DJ Alfredo (Amnesia) Live @ The Jago, London

Earlier this year we invited Ibiza and Balearic Beat legend DJ Alfredo over to guest spin for us in East London. It was a magical night, and a magical 2 hours of global rhythms from one of the best selectors on the planet, hope you enjoy the set as much as we did!

Arriving in Ibiza in 1976 from his native Argentina, Alfredo set about laying down the blueprint of the Balearic sound, which still resonates on the White Isle today. Playing seven hours a night, six nights a week, whilst holding key residences at legendary clubs like Amnesia, Pacha and Space, he helped popularise the first Chicago house and Detroit techno records and was the key inspiration for the UK’s emerging acid scene. His eclectic DJ sets call on all forms of disco, dub and afro, pop, soul and jazz, classical and contemporary house, as well as plenty of obscure Balearic gems old & new.

Dynopenguin are back on Saturday 14th December with fellow party starters Elevator East, this time taking over an exciting new cosmic East London warehouse space in Autumn Street Studios. Disco remix legend Ray Mang (DFA) guest spins, alongside Sounds Of The Universe's wonderfully talented Poly-Ritmo and more.
