I also want to thank Aeon for drawing all of our personas, recording on short notice, and suggesting people for me to contact who might be able to mix.

This that other really old collab that I mentioned in the Maji Love 1000% video description. I "organized" (if you can even call it organizing, since I learned that I am terrible at being in charge of collabs) this chorus around the same time as the Maji Love 1000%, so again the vocals are from 2013. Do check out the singers' channels for their more recent singing. This chorus went through a lot of hiccups, which were pretty much all my fault. I must not have made it clear enough that we were going to be covering this song on a different pitch than the original pitch; one of the singers recorded on the original pitch and wasn't available to rerecord, so he ended up being replaced. (If you happen to be reading this, thank you for expressing interest in the chorus initially and I'm sorry again for not reminding you about the different pitch before you recorded ;; ) Then, since so much time had passed, the original mixer had assumed the collab was dead and no longer had the time to work on it. Kiki agreed to mix for us, but then her hard drive got damaged and she lost the mixing files so further adjustments couldn't be made. I liked the mix well enough and felt it'd be disrespectful after the work she put in to go find another mixer, so I decided to use what Kiki had sent me. And the original animator lost interest since so much time had passed. It was actually one of my offline (I'd feel strange saying "real life" since people that I met through the Internet exist in real life too) friends who saw a Facebook post that I'd made looking for animators, and she offered to animate.

It was because Flash wasn't cooperating that Kat wasn't able to add all the things she wanted to the video. I didn't want the chorus to drag on forever so I eventually just told her to export what she already had for the video even if it wasn't complete. Sorry it's not in HD, but even at this quality level, which is what the video was when Kat sent it to me, it was already more than 4 GB... O_O;; Also, if you're wondering why Aeon's persona looks to be in a slightly different style, it's because Aeon replaced a singer, and we decided to just use that picture to save Aeon having to draw and color more art.

At Fanime this year, I went to a panel that was an intro to j-pop idols and heard this song for this first time. I hadn't really listened to AKB48's music much before - Sugar Rush was pretty much the only song I knew due to Wreck-it Ralph - but I was fascinated by this song almost instantly. I ended up checking out a lot of AKB48's other songs due to this, but in the end Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou is by far one of my favorites. I guess it was because the subject matter and the musical style contrast a lot to most of their more upbeat music.

I probably wouldn't have thought to sing this song since there's so many more recent songs I've been meaning to cover, but I thought it would suit YTChorus's September theme of "reconnections" since the lyrics bring to mind a lot of past friendships I wished I'd held onto (though there's some mentions of love in the song, it's easier for me personally to relate to it as platonic love rather than romantic). I was really into Yuuki Aira for a while and I remember I liked True Tears back when I watched it, though I don't know if it'd be to my taste if I were to watch it today, so that was additional incentive to cover this song. But it felt like too much of a rush to get it for September so I'm finally releasing this near the end of October after scrambling to make a very simple video. Since one of the suggestions was to do a multilingual cover, I figured it was a good time to finally tackle Tsumugi Uta, which is a song I've liked for ages but kept putting off because I couldn't make up mind what key to sing it on. I hadn't wanted to sing in falsetto, but the instrumental just doesn't sound as good when pitched a lot. But now I'm just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, I feel like my tone was a bit inconsistent between the Mandarin and Japanese parts of the cover, maybe because I recorded them on different days. I also decided not to do harmonies because I had a hard time figuring them out and I felt it wasn't super necessary for this song.

I apologize for my Mandarin pronunciation ;; I don't really know how to speak Mandarin since my parents mostly speak Shanghainese at home and I can't read Chinese at all, so I was mostly going by ear and basing my pronunciation off of other people's covers. Somehow I expected the pinyin to be relatively straightforward to follow, but then I don't know pinyin and Mandarin seems to have a lot more tones compared to Japanese. It probably doesn't help that these lyrics are written in an older, more arcane style of Chinese (at least according to my parents) which makes it harder to understand on top of my mispronunciation. I considered singing another Chinese version of this song called 采薇 which was made by HITA, since my parents said the lyrics were in a more modern style of Chinese and were easier to understand, but I had a hard time finding more information about it so I just went with Yuinu's version instead.

Trying to finally get through my backlog of covers from last year that I hadn't released, so here's a short cover back from when I was feeling like singing LiSA's songs. Sang this on -4 pitch compared to the original.

I still feel that some of my harmonies don't sound right for this :c Something's bugging me about how my vocals sound when I try to mix recently but I can't quite put my finger on what it is (maybe that's a sign that I should have other people mix again, haha). I had issues with exporting the video for this too, but it seems that was because Adobe somehow didn't recognize that I renewed my student subscription for Creative Cloud.

I never actually finished SAO, only made it about halfway through the first season. In the beginning I had high hopes, but I ended up being disappointed that Asuna seemed to become a damsel in distress even though she was supposed to be a competent fighter in her own right, and then the brocon got introduced with Suguha ;; Oh well.

I had been thinking about eventually covering this song, but I never got my shit together enough to do it until VMP. I find it fun to sing with myself so I decided to do a self-duet B) I apologize if my Luka and Gakupo parts sound really similar to each other and don't sound energetic enough ;; Sorry about my lack of mixing ability too.

Gakupo really needs to calm his thirst-- das right Luka call the popo on him! Also it's hilarious how eggplant emoji is used for sexual innuendos nowadays. And Luka's line "Go Google it on Yahoo!!" cracks me up every time.

Hey, guys. Long time no see! ~(▰˘◡˘▰)~

I’m back again to bring you an English duet of Mushikui Psychedelism, the second song in the Heisei Project produced by Zips. I stumbled upon this song over a year ago and immediately wanted to translate it. Soon afterward, I PMed Kumoshi and asked them to sing these lyrics with me. Luckily, they agreed to do so, and I was thrilled to be able to sing with them again.

It was great to have Kumo as my partner in crime on this project, because I was a bit discouraged by the high range of this song, even while translating it. It’s a song that requires powerful singing, and that style isn’t usually my forte. Surprisingly, using the top part of my range was actually pretty fun. It let me test the limits of my abilities and grow as a singer. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

This is old (from September 2012, for a friend's birthday) but I never uploaded it to YT because 1) I was keeping a secret what my YT was from people I know in real life (a few of them discovered it by accident recently though ;A; ) and 2) I'd rather not risk getting strikes xD I still kinda like some parts of this cover even though a lot of it is sucky. Maybe someday I'll redo it and there'll be some semblance of improvement...
