KUMP is delighted to release the first EP by HLM38 (ou HLM38’s first EP), the naughty half of duo Ricco and member of the Notte Brigante crew from Lyon. The three original tracks, a mix of ethnic looting and industrial racket in slow motion, feel like steel wrapped in Turkish delight. Front de cadeaux’s take on “Illicite Cong” is reminiscent of an erotic rave flavoured with Oriental spices. Last but not least, Kris Baha slices up “Exit” like a tablier de sapeur (local Lyonnais dish) served on a julienne of  syncopated samples and noisy beats.

written, produced and mixed by Nick Mackrory & Phil Banks
The original version was created by Nick & myself, Autumn 2017, using various Roland, Dave Smith, Doepfer hardware, plus additional live percussion.

Side B: Forgotten Corner - Prosthetic Limbo (Cassini Division remix)
Cassini Division is Kyle Martin’s solo project. His previous remix on forg002 still sounds timeless, so we asked him to remix forg004. Kyle agreed and delivered a monster of a spacious hypnotic slow techno re-imagination!.

Kyle took all of the different elements & put each of them through his modular system & homemade modular fx, he then merged them with some other tones and percussive sounds that he created on his Macbeth synth, re-pitching the sounds to lower the frequencies & then adding various spring reverb
fx to create the spacious immersive atmosphere. The end result is a total trip... turn up loud, close your eyes....repeat!.

Blossoming from the depths of Saint-Etienne, Worst Records is proud to present the second release of its catalogue. In the right path opened by A Strange Wedding with his debut vinyl called « Meta Romance », Jacques Satre delivers with « Anatole Trance » a radical hallucinogenic journey through warped horizons of the mind. This long time member of the Positive Education crew sets up a curious yet fascinating mixture of bass-driven downtempo techno, free range acidalia and fierce sense of absurd humor. The three tracks evolve slowly, building up between litanies for wrecked concrete samples and colourful enchantment. This ambivalence results in dancefloor burning tunes that could also be the soundtrack for mesmerizing off-time afterhours. A concentrate of local wizardry that unveils once again hollow zones of the sound of Saint-Etienne.
