As a catalogue of apparitions, « Transmutation » turns shadows into presence all along these pages, sometimes breaky, sometimes ritual, haunted with glitches and drones, reminding us enchanting sightings then losing us in sticky dark ambient margins, in a forest of walls with faces, in deep corridors, whispering under. Everything rustles here in spectral encounters, blurry, storyless figures barely named in titles. It's music for sleepwalkers, for those who know how to cross by to the other side, to the black screen of darkness and set what they have to give there. "

KUMP is delighted to release the first EP by HLM38 (ou HLM38’s first EP), the naughty half of duo Ricco and member of the Notte Brigante crew from Lyon. The three original tracks, a mix of ethnic looting and industrial racket in slow motion, feel like steel wrapped in Turkish delight. Front de cadeaux’s take on “Illicite Cong” is reminiscent of an erotic rave flavoured with Oriental spices. Last but not least, Kris Baha slices up “Exit” like a tablier de sapeur (local Lyonnais dish) served on a julienne of  syncopated samples and noisy beats.

He was a man who did not see life with his own eyes, but comprehended it only through books and was doubly dangerous in that he convinced himself of his sincerity. He unfeignedly took his lust for exalted feelings, weakness - for the inconstancy of artistic nature, laziness - for philosophical calmness. His mind, vulgar in its attempts at refinement, perceived everything in a slightly exaggerated form, vaguely, through the gilded fog of sentimentality. He lied, not knowing that he was lying, and when others reproached him for this, he said that lies are beautiful. In short, he was an idealist.

The second remix was made by the Duo DJ PG, from Lauzanne (Switzerland). The two pals, both members of the group "La Sacrée Déter" revisited the track "Lust" adding a Psyche-dubik touch to it. Perfect for a matinee on your sofa.
"My music is often a reflection of the state in which I am at a certain period of my life, since I grew up from a musical punk scene, this often involves a certain set of means of expression. In essence, I am in an endless struggle to express some quite lively and human emotions through the cold and artificial world of electronic sounds. That is why there is a lot of melody and sometimes even drama in my music, and this is why I'm often got bored with a static music.
This EP is called "Naturalist", a terms that defines a person who has devoted his life to the study of nature and its kingdoms. This directly relates to my strong belief that the further society advances, the more people are losing touch with nature, something that is real and to which they all belong." - Dmitry Nekrotkov.

In this EP, Dmitry Nekrotkov explores Nature and expresses his vision of the bonds which Mankind shares with It.

Catch @gil.barte for the next hour from @scenecityeu Takeover! The owner of @kumplabel @Gilbartemusic has been releasing some quite exciting music for the past months, from Yssue to Warzou, Pletnev or HLM38. Also running the « Methodrone » show on Lyl radio, the artist recorded for this @scenecityeu Lyon takeover a one-hour trip of dark noises, setting up some gloomy but exciting atmosphere all along his mix.

"Gil.Barte inaugure le catalogue du label de Meth.O.Tapes avec un LP aussi programmatique qu'habité. Basculant l'exercice du long format du côté de la recherche expérimentale bien plus que de la narration, l'objet nommé « R.S.F » est une collection d'images sonores intrigantes. Les tracks ne  commencent ni ne finissent vraiment, pièces d'un puzzle éclaté sans résolution apparente, se déroulant comme autant de pages d'un bestiaire fantastique oublié. Car il est question de variations formelles, de palette stylistique vaste, où l'exploration est à la fois impulsion et finalité jamais atteinte, en accord avec la volonté du collectif Meth.O.Tapes. Chaque créature sonore résonne de bribes imaginaires tantôt majestueuses, tantôt terribles, tantôt naïves, parfois mystiques, parfois naturalistes, plus oniriques qu'exotiques, toujours évocatrices. Un curieux objet musical, un objet poétique comme voulu par le collectif, car objet il y a, recueilli sous format cassette et coffret, forme-sens d'une boîte de Pandore aux mille et un mystères."
