Motez delivers a cracking new remix on arguably the most well-known Vicious release to date in Madison Avenue’s “Don’t Call Me Baby”, while current Vicious artist FTampa reinvents Avicii’s “Jailbait”. Other significant inclusions are new mixes of Cabin Crew’s UK Top 5 hit “Star2Fall”, Vandalism & Static Revenger’s “Vegas” as remixed by Reece Low, ARIA Award-winning “Coma” by Melbourne’s original Pendulum and “White Treble, Black Bass” by Sgt Slick. Anjunadeep’s latest signing is Swedish producer-composer Bård Ericson, aka boerd. He marks his arrival with the release of his breathtaking mini-LP, ‘Static’. Featuring the singles ‘Blind’, ‘Fragment II’ and ‘Void’, ‘Static’ is available now both digitally and on vinyl.

With influences ranging from Burial, Bibio and even Aphex Twin, the 26-year-old has developed a style that pushes the boundaries of atmospheric electronica with stunning attention to detail. Building his sound from samples he records himself, Ericson conjures a euphoric mix of subtle soundscapes that simultaneously breathe and play in awe.

More than an insular producer, Bård takes influence from his career playing double bass with the Swedish Royal Opera, Swedish Radio Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestras. His experience as a player in a significantly larger ensemble gives his music a unique vision and his arrangements a focus not easily realized by the typical bedroom producer.

His first work since signing with Anjunadeep, ‘Static’ is compiled of six meticulously crafted tracks. Amongst the release’s many highlights are the two vocal-led singles ‘Blind’ and ‘Void’. The former sees Bård debut his own vocals while on the latter the producer teams up with friend and fellow professional musician and producer, Ellen Arkbro.

It was four years ago that we started our little radio show, and over the previous 199 weeks we’ve featured mixes from pretty much our entire Anjunadeep family, hopefully including a few classic episodes along the way. For this week’s milestone show myself and Jody have decided to reconstruct our set from Anjunadeep Open Air: Miami back in March. It’s always one of our favourite parties of the year and a few of you have been asking for the set, so we thought it might be a nice way to celebrate our 200th show. The only tracks that are missing are a couple that we are keeping up our sleeves for Anjunadeep 10 later this year, but we’ve replaced them with some other new goodies. An emerging star within the global house scene with releases via Ultra, Armada and Big Beat to name a few, plus remixes for MK, Sonny Fodera and Jax Jones, Glaswegian DJ, musician and producer KC Lights has grown to become a key member of the Toolroom family since making his label debut in early 2019. Having recently mixed Toolroom’s first ever ‘House Party’ compilation, whilst also collaborating with Kittball Records co-owner Juliet Sikora to deliver the slick ‘Tonight’ as part of the label’s recent collaboration project, ‘T2’, early-August welcomes an impressive return as he delivers his single, ‘Girl’.
A bubbling and uplifting production combining infectious, soulful vocals, bright piano leads and smooth, sweeping melodies throughout, the blissful ‘Girl’ showcases yet another side to the Scottish talent’s diverse and expansive sound, and reveals a huge summer anthem for the weeks and months ahead.
