Kurtzweil is a Raleigh, NC based 4-piece, playing in between the genres of indie and folk rock.

Kurtzweil started as singer-songwriter Katie Cooper (then Katie Kurtzweil), playing solo shows in various bars and clubs around Europe. After moving state-side, she and Adam Cooper began co-songwriting and performing in various venues around Raleigh as an acoustic duo. In April 2013, they flew out to LA to record their self-titled EP with Josh Igloo Monroy and Eric Denniston. The EP was released in February 2014, and is gaining in popularity.

In May of 2013, Matt Smith (Lead Guitar) and Gregg Dodson (Drums), both coming from solid rock backgrounds, joined the band. The four of them together produce a fun blend of dance, southern, story, pop, and rock. Kurtzweil is currently playing re-worked versions of the songs from the EP, and is working on new material with hopes to record a full-length in late 2014.
