Buzzy Lee - Circles (Kusht Remix) [Unreleased]

I found this song a long a time ago and was knocked back by the inspiring story of a little girl who stands up to segregation and inspires others to follow. I immediately connected with it's sound and message and felt compelled to make an edit and donate 100% of its earnings to a charity of the correct fit. 
After some digging around i found a great charity here in Scotland which helps minority groups develop their creative talents, education, employability, advocacy and mental health. 

This edit wont be free but it's still only a quid and if you can give a little more I would really appreciate it :)

PREMIERE: Kusht - A Song For The Shade [Paradise Palms Records]

Shika Shika is glad to announce the new version of our classic Botanas series, this time featuring Scottish producer Kusht. 

This EP is a perfect example of Kusht's musical journey, as two of the songs were dug out from an old demo folder. "Blurry Wemba" began as a jam with an old friend, Veslemøy, who provides the almost haunting vocals as the track evolves into something playful. "Midnight Organ Call," the track that triggered the EP's overall sound, is also an old demo. The song was inspired by hearing a giant organ being played in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum and envisioned within the dark rainforest. Both tracks feature vocal sampling and chopping from the Wemba Tribe, the recordings are from circa 1930 and are catalogued by the amazing website revivethis.org. A Kusht release wouldn't be complete without a signature guitar track, and "Black Rock Cruise'' gives us that in a bluesy laidback tone. 

Kusht wanted the EP to have an adventurous feel and a hard-to-pin-down direction - "I always want the listener to be able to close their eyes and visualise a place. I think with this release, somewhere tropical and dangerous comes to my imagination. In fact, I see crocodiles, an old steamboat, and a casino within 'Black Rock Cruise,' but that's maybe just me..."

Hey folks!

When i started this musical journey i always thought playing Fusion Festival would be this once in a life time special event, so to come back and play a fourth time is quite the treat. From the moment i arrive at Fusion i feel so welcome and free to showcase my music and style of playing. It's a place that nurtures individuality, supports risk takers and does not care for what's on trend, so i thank you Fusion.

I also want to show my gratitude to the Seebühne crew for looking after me on the night and also making me feel very welcome. The stage really did look great and the sound was like a warm hug :)

Lastly i need to thank everyone who came to dance, listen and whistle (lol), none of this works without you so i'll always be in your debt and hope my musical journey keeps you entertained for years to come <3

Dreams Within Dreams is built entirely from field recordings captured in churches, temples, and other places of ritual. The EP marks my first use of exclusively analog synthesisers for the drums and melodies, which process and respond to these recorded environments.

The work explores the acoustic properties of these intentional spaces, their reverbs, silences, and ambient textures. Each track layers these field recordings with analog synthesis, creating compositions that exist somewhere between documentation and interpretation.

Hey Folks! 

I’m super excited about this one and it’s out today on all platforms! . Myself and the legend himself “Master Bay” got together a couple years ago to collaborate. He threw down some inspired vocals riffing his own animal language and I think it hits the spot just right. Master Bay being 6 years old at the time shows talent can come from anywhere and I’m honoured to be the first to capture this raw and unique performance. What a legend 👑 
I showcased his mad vocal at Fusion festival playing the stem over my old Papio edit and I can’t wait to play this one out live in its full form soon.

About the night:
Wow, this one was for the books. After a rocky start as Lente's vinyl player decided to not work, we had to change plan from the vinyl set. Luckily enough Lente had his USB's from the night before's gig and we decided to play b2b. The night became a bit of a party and we want to thank all of the people who came down, way busier than we expected and you can feel the vibe in the recording. Not our smoothest set but definitely one of our most fun :)

My Oh My! Its been a rollercoaster of a summer! In fact its been a crazy year for Kusht, from releasing my first EP on Drosssel to playing my favourite stage at Fusion in little over a year i can only extend my fullest thank you to everyone who has shown so much trust in my music. 
Opening the empty stage you can only imagine i had my worries about playing to a playa with the odd tumble weed rolling through but that was not the case. Thank you to those who sat and waited for me to bring the beat and the crazy amount of masses who came running and cartwheeling towards the stage. 

This is a gig i truly cherish and wont forget so it brings me great delight to present this to you all :)

I found this incredible album about two years ago by the Gdansk University Choir and it really blew me away, so much that this is the second instalment of three in which i have and will be sampling the album. One of which is from my Vardo Album's opening track Ketri Ketri. I dug this edit up in December and decided to be a bit more experimental with the beat and tronic's of the track.

It was a sparkling Saturday night at Fusion Festival, all dancers were out of their shelters after the burning sun had set, the energy was raising high when Buddy aka Kusht (https://soundcloud.com/kusht-music) stepped on stage and began his show. Kusht is a Norway-based Scottishman born under the sign of Aquarius, who has been playing in bands for about sixteen years and started his electronic productions seven years ago. His first steps into this new dimension were not really firm, he says. His loud, rock background was clear, but he couldn’t really identify his electronic sound until he visited Fusion Festival for the first time, four years ago. In that very inspiring chaos he found his path, he finally knew how his productions were about to sound, and here we have a great taste of that. The set that we are about to bring to your
ears was recorded live at the Dub Station. It comprises exclusively his original material, some of it was released on his latest vinyl ‘Together’(@ynfnd), and some is still unreleased. For this live set Kusht unleashed his guitar and selected the tracks he plays it the most on, so the set sounds more like a rock performance with world-music influences, rather than the typical electronic set. The artist confessed to us that sometimes he wishes he had an extra arm playing live guitar throughout his performances. 
Enough words spent, it’s time to listen to this amazing set...and to listen to it LOUD!
