Lisa Gerrard /ˈliːsə ˈd͡ʒerəd/1, née le 12 avril 1961 à Melbourne, est une musicienne, chanteuse et compositrice australienne qui est devenue célèbre en faisant partie du groupe Dead Can Dance. Elle est connue pour sa technique vocale unique, influencée depuis son enfance par le multiculturalisme de Melbourne. Elle est une contralto dramatique qui possède une étendue vocale variant sur trois octaves.

Née et élevée à Melbourne, Gerrard a joué un rôle central dans la Little Band Scene de la ville. Elle dirige le groupe de post-punk Microfilm avant de cofonder en 1981 Dead Can Dance avec Brendan Perry. Avec lui, elle explore de nombreux styles basés sur la musique traditionnelle et moderne, donnant les bases de la dark wave néo-classique. Elle chante dans une langue inventée étant petite et parfois en anglais. En plus du chant, Gerrard est instrumentiste pour une grande partie de son travail, utilisant souvent le yangqin, un instrument de musique chinois à cordes frappées. Le premier album solo de Gerrard, The Mirror Pool, paraît en 1995. Elle participe à de nombreux projets, le premier étant avec Pieter Bourke pour l'album Duality, et collabore avec des artistes comme Balázs Havasi, Patrick Cassidy ou Klaus Schulze. Elle compose en grande partie des musiques de films qui, pour beaucoup, ont été primée.

Depuis le début de sa carrière solo, Gerrad a publié quatre albums solo et a collaboré sur seize albums. Elle a composé et contribué à la création de 48 bandes originales et reçoit un Golden Globes pour celle réalisé pour le film Gladiator, en collaboration avec Hans Zimmer. Elle écrit seule celle pour le film Balibo et gagne un ARIA Awards dans la catégorie « Meilleure bande originale ». Au total, Gerrard a remporté 11 prix et a été nominée 23 fois, dont deux fois au Grammy Awards.

Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti, dite Dalida, née le 17 janvier 1933 au Caire (Égypte) et morte le 3 mai 1987 à Paris 18e (France), est une chanteuse et actrice italienne naturalisée française.

Issue d'une famille italienne installée en Égypte, elle participe à des concours de beauté au début des années 1950 et tourne quelques films au Caire. Résidant en France à partir de 1954, elle connaît son premier succès de chanteuse avec le titre Bambino en 1956. Se façonnant un répertoire regroupant plus de sept cents chansons interprétées en plusieurs langues, elle devient une grande figure de la chanson française et bénéficie d'une popularité dépassant la scène francophone.

Parmi ses chansons les plus connues, figurent Come prima, Les Gitans, Gondolier, Bambino, Les Enfants du Pirée, Itsi bitsi petit bikini, La Danse de Zorba, Bonsoir mon amour, Le Temps des fleurs, Darla dirladada, Paroles... Paroles..., Gigi l'amoroso, Il venait d'avoir 18 ans, Salma Ya Salama, Laissez-moi danser, Gigi in paradisco et Mourir sur scène. Embrassant plusieurs styles musicaux, tels que le twist, la pop et le raï, elle est également une des premières artistes françaises à interpréter des chansons disco avec les titres J'attendrai et Bésame mucho.

Souffrant d’une dépression — en raison notamment d'une succession de drames personnels —, elle se suicide quelques mois après avoir été l'actrice principale du film dramatique égyptien Le Sixième Jour. Sa vie privée et sa mort font d'elle une icône au destin tragique.

About this edit 
"Annkrist" is a french composer and singer navigating between blues and Breton folk music, this poetess is one of those hidden treasure of the French music scene.
When I discovered her, I fell instantly in love with the strenght of her voice and her meaningful lyrics. While producing this rework, I really wanted to keep the essence and the psycedelic vibe  from the 70's, that's why you'll hear crackling vinyl sounds, seagulls at the sea, roaring ambient guitars chords moving back and forward like waves drifting on the sand, all those details to make the listener travel back in time and make room for the nostalgia of her voice. This rework is a tribute to a wonderful artist who composed, produced and wrote all her music by herself,
