• Trad Vibe records started in Paris in 2005 when two friends and open minded musicians decided to set up a label that would mainly focus on vinyl releases. In times when Serato and other midi controllers dominated the dj booths and when vinyl record sales were experiencing a major downturn, this endevour did not look like an easy bet . "Moar's Remixes", the label's first release allowed Trad Vibe to set foot in the business and to meet people like Grandmaster Dee Nasty, Cortex (Alain Mion), Raashan Ahmad, The Audible Doctor (NYC) amongst many others which resulted in fruitful collaborations.

Ten years and over thirty vinyl releases later we are poud to present you with this compilation that includes unreleased tracks and remixes by Dj Cam, 20syl (C2C/Hocus Pocus), Venice Beach, Lord Funk, Blanka (La fine Equipe / Juke Box Champions) as well as brand new tracks by artists we like among which LS Brigandes (NYC) feat Insight, Moar & Elodie Rama, Dj Suspect & Doc TMK, King Most (San Francisco) and Madjir.

Evolution is our main target and we hope that you will enjoy our new projects as much as we do.

Trad Vibe, c’est l’histoire de deux amis musiciens et passionnés aux oreilles ouvertes. Leurs retrouvailles se font à Paris en 2005 et ils décident de monter un label essentiellement axé sur des sorties vinyle et ceci en pleine période de chute de ventes des disques et avec l'arrivée de Serato et autres contrôleurs midi dans les cabines des djs : autant dire que ce n'était pas gagné d'avance.
La première sortie "Moar’s Remixes" permettra au label de faire les premières rencontres qui s'avéreront fructueuses, dont le Grandmaster Dee Nasty, Cortex (Alain Mion), Raashan Ahmad,  The Audible Doctor (NYC) et bien d'autres .

After the success of their previous albums Owiny Sigoma Band’s forthcoming long player “Nyanza" continues to bring eclectic and intriguing musical ideas to the table.

Following from the release of "Changaa Attack", Owiny Sigoma Band bring fresh perspectives to cross-cultural collaborations. To make this record, master Luo musicians Joseph Nyamungu and Charles Owoko, invited the London contingent of the band to the Nyanza province of Kenya in the heart of a region called Luoland, to discover the roots of Luo Music. Travelling with a suitcase full of recording equipment the band set up studios on the fly. Louis Hackett the bands bass player produced this hypnotic response after a 12 hour changaa fueled session of hard Nyatiti soundclash. Utilising Owoko’s fierce Nyiduongue drumming and a one take vocal workout from Nyamungu, “Luo Land" is another wayward dancefloor workout for the late night freaks. 

Luo Land and Changaa Attack are available now as instant downloads with pre-orders on “Nyanza” which gets a full release on the 28th August.

I am the grandchild of the warrior men and women that Hintsa and Sekhukhune led, the patriots that Cetshwayo and Mphephu took to battle, the soldiers Moshoeshoe and Ngungunyane taught never to dishonour the cause of freedom. My mind and my knowledge of myself is formed by the victories that are the jewels in our African crown, the victories we earned from Isandhlwana to Khartoum, as Ethiopians and as the Ashanti of Ghana, as the Berbers of the desert. I am the grandchild who lays fresh flowers on the Boer graves at St Helena and the Bahamas, who sees in the mind's eye and suffers the suffering of a simple peasant folk, death, concentration camps, destroyed homesteads, a dream in ruins. I am the child of Nongqause. I am he who made it possible to trade in the world markets in diamonds, in gold, in the same food for which my stomach yearns. I come of those who were transported from India and China, whose being resided in the fact, solely, that they were able to provide physical labour, who taught me that we could both be at home and be foreign, who taught me that human existence itself demanded that freedom was a necessary condition for that human existence. I'm An African.
