@kuttinedge arrives on @playmusik with a new five-track EP, '(115)', drawing on West African funk and US dance music - an interesting, experimental, but firmly dancefloor-focused release.

On 'Dark Horse', an atmospheric arrangement of pads are reminiscent of the peak Autonomic era, filtered through the abstract lens of artists like Actress or King Britt. The pacing and negative space give the tune a weighty but airy feel, punctuated by heavy toms and documentary-style foley.

Chotto Matte (Japanese for "wait a moment") leans into lo-fi drum machine vibe with a raw, unpolished mix. Distorted percussion, thick pads and heavy hats create a dense groove. A mono-style layout and saturated kick give the track a compact, brutalist character. Rude, bassy and rolling.
