Kuz, the artist behind KUZbeats, grew up outside Detroit in a large immigrant community, fostering a broad musical exposure beyond Western traditions. His music draws from his experiences living in countries like Suriname, Guatemala, South Africa, Zambia, and Liberia, while working in international aid, serving at U.S. embassies, and raising a family along the way. The music is deeply personal, reflecting the diverse influences from the artist’s life and travels.

Before this solo project, M. Kuz was signed to Ghostly International Records with the band POSTPRIOR, which combined electronic and acoustic beats with EDM elements.
