Kwasar has a long history of music credits deeply rooted in several areas. Some of you may remember him from one of the most superb underground acts to hit the planet, The Distortionists/Skwod X. He was the Pete Rock and DJ Premiere of his time while lyrically and musically producing heart pounding beats and rhymes that won the world over. From break-dancing against top crews to battling MCs on both coasts and spinning hip-hop, Kwasar began to settle into his own with music production.

He moved to Minnesota at the request of his then manager Jerome Benton (from the group Morris Day and The Time) where he was asked to collaborate with artists such as Johnny Gill, Prince, Foley (George Clintons bass player) and the famous Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. While living up north his affinity for house music grew exponentially. Cliff was introduced to guys like Kenny Gonzalez, Louie Vega and Lil Louis because they helped bridge the gap from hip-hop to house. After the eye opening experience he decided to throw away the underground label and just make music. Eventually he moved back home and found himself producing and co-writing for Grammy winner Erykah Badu and her backup singer (now solo artist) N'Dambi. While keeping busy in the studio he also became the show producer for EZ Street at KJMZ 100.3 JAMZ in Las Colinas. He still kept his hip-hop roots fresh and was recruited by Jeff Wade (of ESPN's Ben & Skin show) to perform 2 songs on the Hydroponic Sound System Album (vol.1) which XLR8 Magazine called "one of the best albums ever.. since De La Soul's 3 feet high and rising and Public Enemy's It takes a nation of millions to hold us back ". MTV even interviewed him for his performance at the SXSW music conference which featured an unreleased duet with Ms Badu. Chuck D from Public Enemy interviewed him after another SXSW performance and was quoted as saying "We just witnessed one of the most ground breaking performances I've ever seen". 

Dance music has become a specialty over the past few years by combining his soulful hiphop, neo-soul and RnB music experiences with house music. His twist and unique blend of styles has made him a sought after DJ/producer and promoter in recent years with chunky eclectic vibes, rhythmic bliss and exquisite programming taste. He has played alongside some of the most notable DJs of this era including: Miles Maeda, Demarkus Lewis, Kerri Chandler, Roy Davis Jr. and Mark Farina to name a few.

Currently Kwasar is a RedBull DJ that tours wherever there is a need for music and good times. He holds a residency at the Gin Mill on the Knox/Henderson strip in a chic/hip Dallas nightlife area, and has been called up for a few guest appearances on HipHop albums soon to be released in the 4th quarter of this year.
