Originally from Bristol UK, Ben J Worrall aka Crackazat is a musician, producer and composer, with a formal background in jazz composition. Now relocated to Sweden, where he releases through the Local Talk label, his productions and remixes have been gaining support from Disclosure, Detroit Swindle, Homework.

For his Period Works EP for ZR he searched the extensive catalogue of ZR accapella's and blended parts of them to create three slamming new productions.

"Universal Love" hits the right balance between the classic house sound and Crackazat's trademark warm, jazzy take on electronic music. "What You're Feeling" heads into more classic piano house territory with low-slung disco beats, while "Crystal Eyes" goes for futuristic chords with funk led guitars over a big bass groove.

The strutting drums maintaining order, Michel carefully guides us up the euphoric scale without ever losing control the reigns. Classy, soulful but deep and dark whatever side of the house/techno axis you flex, this will find a perfect sweet spot in your set. Remix-wise Ovum invite another new friend: Local Talk founder Crackazat brings more organs to the party androlls out a dynamic deep house groove that rises deftly with Chandler-style chords before dropping into a sunlit, goosebumping expanded version of the riff. Dont even talk to us about his Dub 1 version Utilising the same build as his original mix, the riff is suddenly joined by an elastic bassline that can ping us from his Bristol hometown to Ovum's Philly HQ and back again. The now Sweden based Ben Worrall aka Crackazat releases many of his productions through the Local Talk label where the start of 2019 saw him remixing label mates Art of Tones, DJ Spinna, Lay-Far, HNNY for his new album, ‘Magic Touch’.

For this Period Works Vol.2 EP he has gone back into the ZR archives and selected three new accapella’s to create his new productions.

‘Fly Away’ features live keys from Crackazat himself taking the track into his trademark piano house sound. ‘I’ll Be There’ hits the same classic house sound while ‘Some Day’ goes deeper and more laidback with vocal loops and bass groove.
