3. Be Stronger (2008) – Relatives heard that I started writing songs. My paternal aunt, Maria Victoria Tolentino-Metcalf, requested that I write her a song about being strong despite her grave illness. She particularly wanted it to be an upbeat song with a message of hope. The following year, she passed away. Dad, who flew all the way to Texas from the Philippines and was about to spend his first day of visiting her, told me she was playing this song when she died.

4. Ang Pangarap Na Tayo (2008) – I don’t usually write Tagalog poems, or turn them into songs for that matter. I usually don’t make good ones that’s why. However, this one was written because somehow having it in my native language is a better fit. This was written for someone who has been a special part of my life.

5. Lihim (2008) – This song is not dedicated to anyone, unlike the others. A friend of mine requested that I write for him a song about having feelings for someone but not being able to express them.

6. Our Bond (2011) – This song is about friendship and I dedicate it to my dear Buklod (Filipino-American Organization at Cal State LA)

I love to sing.
I love to write poems.
I tried to make them into songs.
I tried to accompany them with guitar.
I tried to record them.
They don't sound professional but...
I'm glad I did what I can.
I'll learn more on the way. ;)
