Parisian electronic artist CHLOÉ and her Lumière Noire Records imprint explore new pastures in 2024, leaning into more club-focused sounds with an immersive new compilation series titled ‘Flash.’ Lumière Noire’s new VA collection welcomes a slew of international talent, providing a wave of experimental flavours with definitive underground gradients. ‘Flash Vol. 1’ plays host to four unique cuts, delivered by Danse Alice, Louen Poppé, Leonor & Fausto and Kike Am Radar.

Enigmatic duo Danse Alice’s ‘Dance On Your Grave’ (feat. Lucy) brings undeniably weird and wonderful energy from the outset, combining detuned analogue musicality, eerie vocals and undulating rhythmic cadence throughout. Louen Poppé’s ‘Mondor’ will be released as a single on the 15th March, to tease the VA. The track fuses retro synth stabs, rumbling modular textures, probing arps and haunting harmonies alongside a head-bobbing breakbeat foundation. 

The combination of Leonor & Fausto follows with ‘Monastic’ which blends robotic nuances, pumping drum grooves, cleverly modulated acid synth lines and glitchy sonics to carve out a sci-fi-inspired basement jam before Kike Am Radar rounds off the release with ‘It’s All Lies’, bringing subtly celestial-laced chugging, weighty house vibes full of nostalgic synthesiser layers and copious, reverberated soundscapes.

Szymon Z aka Simon Fernandez, based in Marseille, start practicing electronic music in 2015 and made his debut release with an 11-track double EP «Head Garden» that came out on UVB’s Body Theory imprint in November 2018. The album teases many styles and rhythms, going from Birmingham-influenced techno to more melodic IDM, all the while maintaining its industrial DNA.
Beside his solo act, Szymon has released two EP as part of the band Empire State (@user-602065336) a project built with two close friends (Lucas Mercier aka Searaime & Jean Redondo) mixing hybrid punk, industrial and cold wave with hints of noise and EBM.
