Visions III is  the third installment of Los Angeles producer Floyd Campbell's original series. Like Visions I and II before it, the newest chapter is made up entirely of Campbell's own productions and presented as a continuous 90 minute piece of music. 

A descendent of Aphex Twin from the beginning, Floyd expands on his influence while incorporating a new palette reminiscent of the likes of both Oneohtrix Point Never and Ready For The World. Psychedelic and textured soundscapes meet snapping DX7 basslines, while dusty soul samples float in and out of cascading techno rhythms. This is Floyd Campbell's unique world, strikingly futuristic with a hazy reminiscence of the past. Visions III is a 90 minute skate at a post apocalyptic Los Angeles roller rink.

A collaboration between Samo Sound Boy and Jerome LOL, Los Angeles' Body High has quietly become one of the US's most rewarding outposts for new house music. Refreshingly unpretentious, they've housed records from up-and-comers (Myrryrs, Jim-E Stack) and innovators (garage legend Todd Edwards, Jersey club king DJ Sliink) alike, as well as providing an outpost for their own productions: Samo and LOL released an album as DJ Dodger Stadium on the label last year, and Samo's own debut album, Begging Please, will be released on April 28.

Described as a "story about the last couple years of my life, told the best way I know how”, Begging Please doesn't spare on the drama or emotion, and it's an attitude that also defines his breathless FACT mix. "I recorded this mix to serve as a preface to my album and give people a little more insight as to my major influences with it", Samo tells us. "As both a DJ and producer, I've really come to prefer emotive and unusual tracks over functional club tools. I like everything to sound like the last scene in a movie, that moment right before the credits start. I'm just trying to stretch that out forever, I guess."

Death on the Balcony are the kind of DJs who exercise a massive scope within their sets. Expertly drawing from all dimensions of their record collections in their expansive sets the duo might be rooted in deep house but they use the four four as a solid platform to draw in cuts from the disco realm also infusing funk and soul to their sets. Responsible for Vice&Virtue Recordings, which has become something of a bastion for quality house, they have secured a heap of respect for their contributions to London's close knit club community with earnest ties to Kubicle, the long running after hours party which started its life in a disused east London public loo also known as The Convenience. 

In just over a weeks time (4th July) we'll be putting on our own celebration of the memories and moments that Kubicle have created in this city with a takeover of Room Three when Death on the Balcony are due to be joined by The Revenge, Toni D and FB Julian in Room Three. To mark out the sounds that we can expect on the night itself Death On The Balcony have paid a bit of homage to the party makers that are hosting the space with this, their Kubicle 10th Anniversary mix...

Sometimes, all you need is a bassline.

Veteran DJs and producers DJ Q and DJ Haus have spent the best part of the last decade mastering their craft, and putting a large, gaudy signature on a plethora of dance subgenres. In 2013, they formed like Voltron to birth Trumpet & Badman, and have since dropped three white-hot 12″s for Haus’s Hot Haus imprint, reaching a frothy peak with this summer’s ‘Body Ache’.

The duo’s generously proportioned FACT mix illustrates how effortlessly Trumpet & Badman manage to surf through very different sounds without losing the all-important message: Dance music is supposed to be fun. This is a space where house gangster DJ Sneak can sidle up alongside Marquis Hawkes, and where DJ Haus’s excellent 4×4 edit of Fatima Yamaha’s destructive ‘What’s A Girl 2 Do’ sounds perfectly at home in the same selection as Josh Wink’s ‘Hypnotizin'; the mix even comes to a dramatic close with Cate’s cheeky ‘Doges In Costumes’.
