It was back in 2010 that Prosumer came and played at our End Of Year Riot event at Legends (RIP) where he blew the roof off of the Voodoo House Chamber!

This year he joins us once again on December 27th for 20 Years Of The Electric Chair....

Always a complete gentlemen and amazing DJ...lets just say that excitement levels are reaching fever pitch already and this exclusive mix he has recorded for us ahead of the 27th most definitely feeds that anticipation!

„The craze about the music...“
...the man called Prosumer is besotted with it. Since Achim Brandenburg heartily grabbed the microphone under this moniker in 2005 for Frankfurt’s then undisputed Label Playhouse, he showed that lasciviousness, a fever for Chicago’s Jack flavour and consciousness of tradition aren’t necessarily bound to a time and a place. Vision, passion and knowledge make Prosumer a guardian of house music history and one of the formative artists, influential DJs and important producers of our days.
While deriving his name from Alvin Toffler’s techno sci-fi-bible The Third Wave (producing and consuming at the same time), Prosumer lives up to his name. With more than a decade of Hard-Wax-Record-Store-enculturation on the clock (first in Saarbrucken, then Berlin), he spent countless nights in clubs, days looking for music and years refining his art and becoming in line with the “big three”. This is not a reference to Detroit’s car companies, but the city’s musical heritage that – together with the Big Apple and the Windy city – laid the foundation for techno and house builds with the Big Apple and the Windy City.
Prosumer oscillates between these poles. That holds true for his productions, which are affected by references and historical vertexes, but never feel to be out of time or place. An album with Murat Tepeli and collaborations with Tama Sumo expand his discography for labels like the aforementioned Playhouse, Running Back or Swayzak’s 240 Volts. On the other hand – and that might be far more important – this is exemplary for his DJ work since the mid-nineties. Prosumer connects the tracks and songs of this music’s golden age with the worthwhile pieces and developments of today. Accordingly to that special feeling which is so hard to couch, he gets engaged in it from tip to toe – and so does his audience. Proved by his mission as one of the residents in Berlin’s influential club institution, on his official mix CD for that place that describes his spectrum of sound perfectly and by this certain magic that travels with and in him everywhere.

Big Wave Radio - Jan 2017

In an age of odd dj names there is little as bizarre as that of Dj Normal 4. The mysterious producer has amassed a reputation as a bit of a breakbeat connoisseur in recent months having released music on Klasse Wrecks and Brothers From Different Mothers. More recently he has also featured collaboratively alongside Luca Lozano and Bufiman. His sound quite clearly draws upon influences found amongst the golden days of rave culture. Old school samples and broken percussion feature heavily amongst his sets and in much of his own music. 

His online presence would indicate that he might not take himself too seriously, which in a time when techno dj's seem to be becoming increasingly moody is much appreciated. 

We are delighted to be able to welcome Dj Normal 4 to our mix series for an edition which is anything but predictable.

Back in 2013, just before we pulled the plug on our Sunday weekly at Holy Cow, a crew of cute straight boys were becoming party regulars. So regular they even picked a favorite leather-padded booth at the club to talk shop and soak up the vibes. Bound buy a shared love of record collecting, hip-hop, and hanging out with the gays - this motley crew quickly blood-brother'd before one of their comrades, later to be known as Matrixxman, broke through the Bay Area window. Armed with Vin Sol's arsenal of drum machines and the elbow deep nightlife reputation of Primo Pitino these boys formed Club Lonely - a new club night and label. They also positioned a newcomer to be the prince of their dirtbag claps-on-the-one empire, a cool headed and naturally focused chap named Jeremy Castillo. Taking his time to enter into the already bloated SF DJ scene, Jeremy blew Honey fans away with his headlining slot at our pre-Thanksgiving party in 2015. Cutting his teeth playing rap music in the bars, Jeremy has been making waves pushing house and disco into the short-set tag-teams that the Club Lonely parties in SF are becoming infamous for. His track, Talk 2 The Hand feat. Vin Sol, an organ grinder of a tune confident enough to shake any "Room 1" across the water, made it into our Boiler Room set even a year after its release. We've been waiting a minute for a mix from Jeremy, but like all his moves, it is about the how you and not the when you... Enjoy

This summer we'll be heading to beautiful Tisno in Croatia for Love International's second festival outing, and with the final lineup drawing to a lavish close this week there's a whole wave of debutants and familiar faces heading and returning to the coastal hideaway along the Adriatic coastline this year. Past Truancy Volume mixers Ben UFO, Moxie and Palms Trax will all make the trip at the end of June, with fellow Truant favourites Job Jobse, Kornel Kovacs, Midland, Honey Dijon and much more all bound to one of the region's most revered festivals. To get us in the summer and holiday mood, we've got another festival attendee in the mix for our 174th Truancy Volume.

A regular to esteemed labels such as Running Back, Live at Robert Johnson, Beats in Space and Permanent Vacation, Phillip Lauer, may have a low-key online presence (with no Facebook, Twitter or Soundcloud) but his vast range of work under a host of different aliases and collaborations have solidified him as one of the scene's most loved house producers. Melodic intricacies have been a staple in his productions over the course of a decade, with new wave, 80's pop and balearic influences attributing to blissful summer-defining music.
