Passing Through

Not sure what to call this song yet, but I finally got around to finishing it. I've had the lyrics lying around for a while, and I guess I misplaced them in the move. But I recently found them and decided to polish it up and post it, since it's been a little while since I actually posted a decent tune. The guitar solo was done using my old 70's Maestro Phaser (the picture). Everything else is straight forward. The reverb sounds good. Really starting to love recording in the bathroom. Enjoy!

This is probably the first, complete, song that i ever wrote, that didn't suck. wrote down the lyrics and music one day at the community college in tahoe, and recorded it all on my buddy brian collins' laptop in a couple hours. also the first song i ever wrote a vocal harmony on (which you can kinda tell because it's pretty simple). but it's dear to my heart, and a few of my friends' hearts as well. enjoy.

I believe I originally wrote this song when I was 20. Not sure about why it came about. all audio snippets are from Lost in Translation, which is one of the most melancholy, out-of-place-but-right-at-home movies i've ever seen. the song is just about a basic sense of fleeting and feeling lost and losing grip. my father is alive and well. enjoy.

This is a song I wrote quite a while back. over 10 years or so. partly about getting over someone or something and using whatever means necessary to do so. and then at the end of the day feeling worse off than before. in summary, this song is about that feeling being such a profitable market to many corporations without there being any regard to your actual well being. enjoy!

Hey folks, I recently uploaded this song to SoundCloud, but upon listening to it again, I realized that the track got a little warped in some spots so I had to go in and change them around. I record through Audacity, which for being a free program isn't bad, but can really mess with the pitch and timing of your tracks, especially if it's overdubbed multiple times. Written from midnight to 3 AM, sometimes songs come out of nowhere. a song about a struggling mother raising a kid, wishing better for them, letting them move away and live their life, and knowing they raised em right. no clue where it came from but it wanted to get out, i suppose. enjoy

Definitely didn't wake up thinking i was going to make a Legend of Zelda mix but here it is. i downloaded all of the Ocarina of Time sound bites, picked a dozen good ones, and laid it down. the beat was found as a short sample online, chopped it up and stretched it. instruments: oscar schmidt classical guitar, kawai electric piano, squier bass, egg. all FX from Audacity.

Tenderloin Babes

Wrote this song a couple years ago while living in Portland, OR. It was miserable, i was broke, and i decided to get sober for a while. 6 months actually. just made me realize that having a drink or smoke should be celebratory. it should be used to enhance, not to drown out. and so i went from getting hammered every day to keeping it within moderation, catching a buzz with friends and playing music is one of the best things, but using it as a crutch and a problem solver for any situation is what really bogs you down. so this song was just about coming to terms with that, and growing up.

Sober and Square

I've been writing music since I was about 16. I started out recording on my folks' old desktop with a terrible USB mic. I eventually upgraded some equipment, learned a new program, and have been posting ever since. I'm originally from the bay area and have lived there off and on for about 13 years, but have lived and grown in South Lake Tahoe for 20 years of my life, so this is my true home. I've played in several bands and with dozens of musicians here, professionally, since I was about 16 years old. I love it, it's my full time job, but my dream is to have my original songs reach as many people as possible.
