This is one that was written by very talented young guy, Spencer Olson. I was the lead vocalist in the group, Spencer was the bass player, his brother Andy Olson was the guitarist, an amazing guitarist might I add, and Garrett Jarvela was the madman on the drums. The Regular Crowd. This was recorded in Emily, MN at One Horse Productions by John Pribyl. I still think about you all the time John, I know your jamming out up there behind those pearly gates man!

Wrote this song a while back... Its Called "Dead or in the Pen." Just finished recordin it on 5-5-13 with Ethan Anderberg (Made Famous). Its still missin some minor touches and fill ins but heres the song for the most part. Hope u all like it!

Hey everyone, Im Kyle Peterson, some of my friends and my family call me K.P. Im a singer/songwriter. Absolutely love music, and anything that involves music in any way, shape, form... It don't really matter, if its music, you got my attention.  My solo original stuff is kind of an alternative/country style.. Somewhere in between I suppose. I dont know, most of the songs Ive uploaded so far were recorded using Garageband in my bedroom, with the exception of the few songs that were recorded at One Horse Productions with a band that I was with for a while called The Regular Crowd. But most the others are cuts that I ended up with while trying to figure out how Garageband works, so the mixing/editing might not be the best, but they're my first attempts at using the program. Ive been in a couple different bands.. The first band I ever actually started was when I was 15 years old. It was just a drummer, Ethan Anderberg, and myself at first, and we called ourselves "100 Proof." We played a lot of the classic rock stuff. About 2 years later we acquired another guitarist/vocalist, Blayne Sovia, and got the feel of jamming with another member in the mix, just being kids, playing at parties and in garages, scoring a few gigs here and there at a couple local pubs, even played at a pep fest for our school once. We then expanded our genre a little bit from just classic rock, adding in some country stuff and some alternative stuff too. A little later on we finally found a (much needed, to say the least) bass player, Matt Morton, and then also added another guitarist/vocalist, Micah Caron, which allowed us to extend our song list quite a bit since we now had 3 of us singing lead vocals.  At that point we decided to switch our name to "Bad Habits" (being in our late teens/early twenties at that time, God knows all 5 of us had enough bad habits to supply just 1 of us alone). We played more and more gigs, and were starting to gain a name for ourselves around the area, but eventually ended up breaking up. I started doing solo acoustic gigs then, sometimes with one of the members from "Bad Habits" (Blayne) and my old man, Scott Peterson, would come and sit in with us here and there, which was and still is always a blast. I gotta say my old man is for sure my biggest influence ever when it comes to music. Not only because he's a musician himself, but if it weren't for him and my awesome mom buying me my first guitar so many Christmas's ago, I probably wouldn't have ever even started playing or singing in the first place. A couple other big influences I had were Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, & Matchbox Twenty. Anyway, a couple more years went by of mainly playing acoustic gigs, then I started singing lead vocals in a 4 piece band called "The Regular Crowd" (Andy Olson-guitarist, Spencer Olson-bassist, Garrett Jarvela-drums, myself-lead vocals). The 2 Olsons in the group were brothers who were also raised into the love of music. We went strong at it for about a year, playing almost every single weekend around the state of MN at bars and at county fairs and music festivals and stuff (with the assistance of the Olson brothers' dad, Chad Olson, booking many of the gigs for us and supporting us hugely and investing a ton of his time weekend after weekend helping us set up/tear down and driving countless miles to the shows to help) but we ended up splitting up eventually. After that I went back to doing mainly acoustic gigs again, but in the past couple years I went kind of dormant. Im starting to get the itch really bad again though so my next plan is to form another band here soon and see if I can't get something going again. Check out my songs I have posted... Again, the recording/sound quality on some of stuff aint the best, as I mentioned, Im still figuring out how to use garageband and stuff. But if you wanna know more.. Shoot me a message!
