Darkly Curious

I slid into the machine.
He showed me some pictures. 
"Do you prefer the gliding curves because they signal a lack of threat?" J. asked.

Suddenly the floor was gone.
"True creation is not about words. It's about tears," J. said.
I had been hiding my neural affinity for the gliding curves.
It was now too late to hide.

The ground had left and I would follow.
I was now diving into some kind of primal network,
something vast, deep, profound.

"Do not be afraid, no, do not be afraid."
I tried to reach the part of my brain that processed fear.
Through round looping in empty space
I could reach a place of excruciating universal pleasure.
"When a being slows down
its speed is proportional to its energy. 
It is temporarily behaving as if it has near infinite mass."

I was being made to accelerate around imaginary loops.
I suddenly realized this is where I would meet my fate.
(Maybe some would cry outside as a result.
But I would never know.)

Nothing was clearly visible to me.
I just knew I had to keep going.
The whole thing was a trick with light.
The curves made it appear to have mass.
But it was only an illusion.

"By moving through these curves you can loop around forever – 
it's equivalent to becoming an enormously long crystal." J.said.

Every action must have an equal and opposite reaction.
"Your current movement through the gliding curves can not be fully explained."
Within me, negative and positive mass would now interact.
I would then accelerate forever.
There could be no escape.

"He has transcended." he said.
"He now has no observable meaning.
He is beyond our reach."

"I knew he had met you," she said.
"Yes," he said, "very true. He has actually been speaking of me for years." 
"It is the sun," she said.  
"It comes with healing in its wings."

In those days there were no teachers or students
only a rather small group of terrestrial beings.
His tale used to be that his name was bound,
he had become a salesman of secret knowledge.

"We can tell what your true will is," she said. 
"The rabbit hole goes even deeper
and we can see your true colors. 
You are now one body covered with a skin 
but you are filled with multitudes."

"I descend from the ceremony with the circle of midnight," he said.
"Other people don't know about us."
 
"Men serve as sign posts at the forks in the road," she said.
"They transmit the sight from generation to generation,
all part of an occult conspiracy,
a secret society which belongs to the sun 
and passes through the sun."

"I have no power and no influence here," he said. 
"I would just let my own words speak for me. 
Eventually the others would look a bit deeper 
and they might start to see the hidden messages."

"I have said enough three times," she said. 
She was referring to the energies,
the colors of the order. 

"The spirit and the circle of midnight will speak," he said. 
"The Sun is everywhere." 

"Once your eye is single," she said.
"There will be no him,
there will be no speaking.
Then your whole body will be filled with light."

The day I arrived at his modest, single-family home 
he acted as if I had committed some sort of crime.

I stood at the doorstep
and attempted to fill all available space
through the use of knocking and my voice.
But no matter what I did
he still didn’t answer the door.

I started to speak 
about a simple symmetrical system
and he quietly responded
from inside the house.
His voice was barely a whisper.

"Our strength is expressed by the vector edges," he said.
"If a bird calls, 
you will hear it echoing through the galaxy. 
The bird may be turned inside out 
to form its negative complement."

I tried to remain aware
that behind the door was
a visionary who could change the world.
If I could only see his face
maybe we could help one another
to fill all available space.

"The minimum symmetrical system 
is the regular tetrahedron.
Its number is -6."
I stared at the door's surface.
The shadow I imagined on the other side 
became for me the epitome of terror.

The next time I saw him
he was in a mental hospital.
He was an old man by then. 
He claimed his interment in this institution
was the only way to show the world
the nature of his humanity and humility.
I nodded in simple agreement. 

"There are two types of tetrahedra," he said.
"One is symmetrical and the other asymmetrical.
If you listen long enough
we will achieve the minimum realizable 
nuclear equilibrium."

I stayed with him for a few hours.
I left convinced that I had heard enough.
He died a few weeks later.

How did I come to write an analysis 
of the deep central nervous system
and why am I equipped to write it?

Due to my particular psychological disposition
I came to live on the fringes of the world.
Through drugs, hypnosis, 
dietary restrictions, and self imposed compliance
my skills were advanced tremendously 
and I came into contact 
with incredible technologies.
I learned of a devil on a spaceship
and I saw the Black Shades in action.

What do you need to know 
about the Black Shades?

First of all, 
all complex organisms have a social network 
committed to its own perpetuation.
But there is another operating system 
concealed behind the one that is visible.
(This is always hard to see
and extremely easy to forget.)

The Black Shades were a cabal created 
to connect to the visible central nervous system.
Its operators mainly acted in the light of day
as spies for the dark united central system.
Their capabilities were sophisticated
their invasiveness breathtaking.
It was easily possible 
for them to wreak havoc
halfway across the globe
without much effort.
They were relentlessly well entrenched
and unimaginably powerful.

But they were neither omniscient nor invincible.
This I came to understand eventually.
I have had to bury this dog deep 
and I have often changed the site
of its secret burial.
The reasons for this should be clear by now.
