A re-recording (Studio Mix) of my debut set at Twilight v21 Open Air Festival.

I really enjoyed this set as it shows my musical versatility within the genre. I also did some 3-channel mixing keeping the audience involved and interested while slowly elevating the energy of the night.

Manifest Promo Mix

SO after much debate (with myself) and almost exactly 4 years later, I have finally decided to let this one go.

Around the time I started working on this song a lot had happened...
Firstly, Covid just hit devasting the world. Due to this, I remember leaving my current space returning to my hometown, only to discover the family home was being sold and I had to find somewhere else to live (I was now technically homeless). Then adding to this, one of my best and closest friends hung themself during lockdown..

I was in quite a state to say the least. Very confused, lost and with no clue what other sick joke life may have in store for me. During this time I put all the energy I had left into this song. Once it was completed I stored it away and never heard it again in almost 4 years.

Re-listening to it now has brought some of those thoughts and emotions back - but more from a place of being proud of myself. Proud I stuck it out, that I moved forward and for not letting the past hold me back. A part of me wanted to try update or make some adjustments to the track, but I feel that goes against the purpose of me letting it go. 

Perfectionism has always been my greatest strength and weakness. I do believe that  the imperfections is what makes us unique. This song gave me the strength I needed at the time - I hope in someway it can do the same for you.

This song is a dedication to a special person who saw a light in me when I never did. Thank you for being my Muse and for the lessons you have taught me.

Kysuné 'All Things' [HMSA Records]

'The Alchemist' is a 90min impromptu Drum and Bass Mix. 

-> The concept was to throw in an uncontrollable element [Chaos] and to see what or how I could transform and redirect it, thus creating something new and hopeful from it. This is the basis of Alchemy - to transform a negative to a positive , a bad situation to a good one. 

-> I essentially see this mix as a metaphor of Life. 
'Chaos' represents the struggles, hardships and challenges Life may bring knocking us down in its path. As hard as we may try to overcome this and knock these challenges back, we just can't - most of times only making our situation much much worse. 

-> It doesnt matter how tall or big or strong you think you may be,  Life will always be much taller, much bigger,  and far stronger... It's also a heck of a lot better at knocking people down than you will ever be - sometimes this hit is so great, its victims never truly get back up.
So instead of fighting back, I chose to navigate this Chaos, welcoming it , holding it for a mere second before transforming it to something completely new. 

-> For this experiement I utilized 4 mixing Channels, and slowly but steadily introduced new sounds, some complimentary and others complete opposites. Through-out the mix I kept pushing the boundaries of each song testing their limits, soon doubles became triples, moments of Noise soon became verses of Clarity and Harmony. 

-> It felt really good not knowing or planning the outcome for once - to just flow with it and make the best of each transition/situation. The result became something far more beautiful than I could have imagined - Flaws and all.

-> This simple experiment has taught me that we may not always know what forms of Chaos may come our way or try knock us off our path, this is inevitable,  so rather learn to navigate it, re-direct it and thus transforming it anew.

- So the next time life throws you a curveball, what will be your strategy?  Work with it or against it? -
