This composition was recorded at the first edition of 'punctum' , an event created by Nik from @reportlyra at the Klein Wetsinge church. I had the pleasure to supply the musical elements for this event, together with Tom (@sacrescare) and Emil (@srush.hour).

According to the creator and curator of this event, "punctum" is a moment of presence, a feeling of being touched deeply by a sensory experience, without really being able to put your finger on it, to describe what it is. Over the course of my life I have experienced many punctum moments by touch, smells, sceneries and movements. But the most common way for nature to tickle 'a punctum' (I don't know if you can say it like that) out of me is through sounds, time and time again. 

Therefore, I'm very happy that I could contribute some sounds to this experience. Even though I would like to stress that the event was about much more than just the music. Namely, how spaces, lighting, movements and thoughts all play an evenly important role to create that experience, and I wanna thank everybody who was involved to make that happen. Lastly, I want to thank the people that showed up and were open to let themselves be moved, touched and activated in stillness, by punctum.

"I had a dream the other night...I saw myself...dancing...in a big abandoned ware house...surrounded by dust and smoke...the sun rays falling through the broken roof...endless."

the rave-enant. is a mixture between ambient sounds from the motion picture soundtrack of 'The Revenant' by Ryuichi Sakamoto, and some of my favorite deep house and ambient tracks. It combines elements of house and techno with dream-like ambient sounds from German pioneers of ambient electronic music such as Tangerine Dream and Wolfgang Voigt, as well as upcoming artists as Ferdinand Schwarz & Darius Heid. Thereby, it attempts to tell a story, to create a scene like the one described in my dream. The physical absence of dance and concert culture is deeply felt, and leaves us all with a feeling of emptiness and longing...

However, we as a scene, as lovers of the artform electronic music, are strong and we can, through an atmosphere of unison and supportiveness, build this culture back up from its remains. We have been and will continue to be patient, as long as necessary, and then - when the moment is right - we will come back. And like 'The Revenant', we will come back hard.

With a background in free jazz and improvisation, Luis aka CADILLAC is always looking for the weird little note to tickle your brain.

Separating the actual experience of sounds from the labels we put on it, the Cologne-native is taking you on a ride through the alleyways of funky town. From extra-terrestrial to underground, from drop tops to low riders. His musical explorations are an expression of the universal rhythm residing in every living creature.
