An entrancing, energetic and textured remix of Anaäm—the opening track from the ‘Nomäa’ EP which released on the amazing YUKU label back in 2022—forms the perfect psychedelic-tribal closer of this compilation.

MR002 sent in direct from Brno covers a sub-scape of sounds reflecting a current shift in the scene. Count’s sophomore EP showcases a versatile and refined style both in idea and application. Brno’s newest emergence has already had a hand in much that the scene has to offer. Between being a resident/booker at filtr and a regular host on Infame Radio, many have heard count playing at other venues such as Vitamin, Fraktal, and Ankali.

Taking form over a range of bpms, three original tracks accompanied by two remixes come together to shape this tightly knit project. The first track on the EP aptly named “WORK” is an enigmatic drum puzzler highlighted by the familiar voice of Missy Elliot. The track also comes as break-y dance floor heater when remixed by Brazilian -> Berlin based producer/DJ alys(alys)alys. Moving forward to “SPLIT”, a slow stepping wub of a track that is sure to take even the most menacing systems to the red. Stocked with its fair share of change ups, the track also gets tuned to run quick in a remix by Australian producer Lithe. The remix features a rendition of the track reminiscent of a calmer time, although still with its full share of sub attacks. The EP closes with the more introverted rhythm of “STICK N POKE”. This final track finds its niche within the opening or closing of a set when atmosphere is at a premium.

Toupaz lands on Grid with a luminous, deep and complex EP. 4 tracks mixing impossible genres with contrast as the watchword.

The lead track Rabatanto wanders between dubstep and techno influences, at once dark with sizzling bass lines and ethereal with dubby percussion samples. A club banger for any crowd.

Genuine Connection is the tool of the bunch, galloping along at 142bpm it will thrill everyone with its ultra-detailed uk bass vibe contrasting with airy and colourful synthesizers.

On the b-side, Birdsong slows the tempo with a slow dancehall atmosphere mixed with deep subs and rap vocal samples.

Islandish, the closing track puts the emphasis on emotions, with emo synth lines again combined with dub echoes and a false slowness to create a one-of-a-kind emotional mood.

Following his debut EP Foreign Exchange, Somatic Rituals co-founder returns to the label with Clepto Loop: a track shaped for high-energy club settings. Driven by hypnotic, hard-hitting kicks and sizzling, textured sound design, the track leans into a raw, functional aesthetic. Repetitive vocal fragments loop throughout, creating a sense of tension and propulsion that blurs the line between Techno and Bass. A pure DJ tool with personality — Somatic Rituals re-ups the energy with this stripped-back, bass-weighted belter.

All proceeds from this release will be donated directly to support the Abu Zereiq family in Gaza.
