Let'z roll back to the yr of 1990. I was working @ resort as a room service waiter to pay for my college tuition & being a young daddy to a precious daughter. I really enjoyed that job & got to meet tons of celebrities in entertainment whether in music, tv, super models, etc...
On this day I met this promoter out of London. We started talking about House Music & he was blown away of my knowledge on this raw sound coming out of Chicago. For those who know/knew me then. I always had Chicago Mixtapes in my car, mainly from WBMX/WGCI hotmixes.
So on this day, I traded this guy this tape for a Farley "JackMaster" Funk on WBMX. Of course NOT the master copy lol!!
In any case, here's a copy of the tape he gave me by Tiny Valentine.
It's mainly UK Style House... my mind was open to what the world was playing. Especially while doing a radio show that 1st introduced House & Techno to Central Florida.

"Chicago native Justin Aulis Long discovered his fascination for uncanny music at an early age when his mother entrusted him with her record collection that spanned from UK punk to American dance. This  served as a gateway, stimulating his journey into the sonic vortex. As a child of Medusa’s on Sheffield, Long gained a higher level of musical education. His weekly pilgrimages to this venue’s all-ages hedonistic dance parties supplied a compelling musical concoction of acid house, UK bleep, industrial and new wave. Possessed by these unorthodox forms of music, Long purchased his first set of turntables and began to collect 12-inch singles from local record shops. Though his intentions were solely to pander to his musical appetite in the privacy of his bedroom, this acquisition proved to be the genesis of a voyage that continues to present him with new challenges that are met with an unforgiving dogmatic approach.

Long cut his teeth during the early 90’s at many of Chicagos Infamous DIY and underground warehouse raves. pulling selections from a variety of his musical influences and interests. Eventually graduating to take residencies at many of the cities established club venues and landing a residency at Smart Bar where he is currently the longest consecutive resident."

Now here'z a tape that remindz me so much on our radio show when we started in 1989' on 91.5 FM WPRK, Orlando. We would play House, Freestyle, Hip Hop, Alternative Dance & even Dancehall Reggae. Here the Renegades out of NYC do tha same on Club 89 FM. I'm most definitely enjoying this mixtape!! I'm also sure all those who used to listen to our radio shows or hit our KCP partiez would agree.
