About the mix:
This was recorded live and direct from the desk in Tokyo roughly two years ago.
For me, when it comes to house music, I always look back to the masters (as many do), but specifically to the radio mixes of Farley Jackmaster Funk, Timmy Regisford, and Boyd Jarvis.

The dynamic blending of freestyle, new wave, American disco, Italo, and the experimental dance tracks of that era was innovative and represented the true genesis of what dance music is: mixing different styles and making it all make sense together while completely blowing listeners’ minds.

When I play, I hope to pull fragments from this long-forgotten era and give the crowd something they may have been missing for a long time — with modern reverence and deep respect for the days of old.

A first taste of what awaits us on November 29th at Basic.

This week of Dec 14th sees Jean Nipon's debut three track ep for L.I.E.S. drop. With that we had the man of the Paris 10eme give us a podcast ahead of the records drop. A self confessed Chicago House freak, Nipon delivers a smacking mix equally deep and equally jacking, spying some Connie's Crew, Jamal, and Gene among others in there. Dusty dirty and mixed impeccably...Nipon is a force to be reckoned with when on the decks without a doubt...
