About @falkejohn:
John Falke is originally coming from Northern Germany where he started producing, djing and developing his own style. In order to improve his personal and musical progress he moved to Berlin in 2016. This step was important for him to get out, meet and connect with other artists so that he got the right inspiration for his own compositions. Three years later the label TAU (founded by Adana Twins) has discovered John’s talent firstly, followed by his first own EP on the esteemed label 'Borders of Light'. Several releases & remixes on established labels followed, including a release on Innervisions. To deepen his own sound he is always open to new influences and challenges.

Becoming a dad a year ago meant I almost had to stop playing and traveling (hopefully, that’ll change soon). Playing less has given each set a unique vibe. Now, I get to take “luxuries” like breaking away from a straight line in my sound. That’s why what happened at Utopia feels so special. I started my set with one idea, which evolved as I went, leading to an impromptu moment with the incredible Cook Strummer singing his track and closing with an explosion of disco and house.

The set is now live for curious ears. 🎶

Oh, the trials and tribulations that this year has seen! Now as the year comes to a close, with our dancing shoes gathering a bit of dust, we look to the new year for hope and the possibility of physically coming together in the name of music once again. In the meantime, our eyes and ears have been peeled for new sounds and rising stars. Taking center stage for this Foxcast, we present @Budakid, an upcoming talent that is making waves out of the Netherlands with an enviable release catalog. Providing us with a beautifully mellow yet uplifting mix that eases the senses and the mind, Budakid helps us smoothly navigate out of the turbulence of 2020 and into a new era.

Effervescent at times, moodier at others, this Foxcast encompasses the qualities and sentiments that Melodic House fans love most – elation, morale-boosting, the inclination to dance, darker musical twists that always return to melodic sounds, providing a euphoric elevation of the mind. One cannot help the cliché of throwing their hands in the air - even older jaded stalwarts of the dance floor have no shame in admitting so. It is quite evident that Melodic House greats like Guy J and Sasha have an intrinsic influence on Budakid’s production style and musical tastes in this carefully crafted Foxcast, which also features tracks by the likes of Joseph Ashworth, Deetron, Frankey & Sandrino, and Shiffer.

Budakid’s beginnings may not have been very different from other DJs, however, it is his music and proficiency at production that sets him apart. With sixteen releases in 2020 alone on a myriad of well-respected labels such as Anjunadeep, Armada Music, Diynamic, Exploited, Last Night on Earth, Lost & Found, and Einmusika Recordings (label of Cityfox regular Einmusik), his talent is hard to ignore. With a residency in Utrecht and gigs in 22 countries – not to mention one on the Great Wall of China - already under his belt, Budakid has become a mainstay, especially in the Melodic House realm.

Luca Rivetti: The Rise of Lurive

Luca Rivetti, born in 1987 in Switzerland, is an Italian with a deep connection to music. From the tender age of 15, he discovered his passion for DJing and stepped into the vibrant world of the club scene. Under the stage name Lurive, he quickly made a name for himself, captivating audiences with his compelling beats and precise sets.

His career took off as he worked his way through local clubs, developing a knack for dynamic music setups that drew people to the dance floor. Lurive’s energy and passion for music made him a respected name in the scene.

However, life brought new priorities. Luca decided to take a break from his DJ career to focus on his family. This decision meant a temporary departure from the turntables, but his love for music remained a constant companion.

With a renewed focus and a clear goal in mind, Lurive is now making a comeback. This return is not just a revival but a new era where he is concentrating on producing his own tracks and planning to conquer the clubs of Europe. A first taste of his new work can already be heard on SoundCloud, and expectations for his return are high.

Luca Rivetti, aka Lurive, is ready to begin the next chapter of his musical journey, and fans can look forward to an exciting comeback full of new beats and unforgettable nights.
