My first ever audio generated via a Recurrent Neural Network!  Trained on a data set of rain sounds from Freesound.org.
Sounds quite a bit like rain...uh....to the extent that rain sounds like modulated white noise. ;-)

Plenty of room for improvement. The training set of data files (about 30 minutes total) were not normalized for amplitude.  The generated audio was post-processed with Audacity to remove clicks and to compress amplitude variations.  

RNN-Rain (sound texture synthesis via machine learning)

Second attempt at audio texture generation (see RNN-Rain for the first one), this was using less than 10 minutes of "crickets" sounds pulled from Freesound.org, FindSound.com, and SoundBible.com.   
If you know of a good source of other cricket sounds, let me know!  More data = more training = better results.

First sound clip from my new guitar- a Godin xtSA.    Soloing atop the riff from my song "Leadfoot."

An experiment in digital retuning and (attempts at) triggering drums.

The guitar is in standard tuning, but the acoustic tone is tuned do DADCDG.  "Lead" tones are in standard.

I had a *terrible* time with the pitch shifter mangling my tones, and the expression pedal on the GR-55 responding only intermittently.  Warrants further investigation. ***UPDATE: After calibrating the RMC pickup settings on the GR-55 (as per http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=3965.0), I am no longer experiencing problems! :-)

This is just where I plan to "tweet" sound clips of things I'm tinkering with, especially with regarding to guitar synth usage and looping.   Perhaps some of them will make it into proper songs and be featured on my "real" website, www.scotthawley.com.
