AMAM is pleased to team up with Enrico Sedda, a producer based on the same Sardinian shores, for his next statement as 000. Agent Double-O-Zero has already released with the Sleep is Commercial crew, but this is his first EP for AMAM, titled Camel's Pace, and while the tracks themselves might not have a sub-standard BPM, they take their time in unwinding, unfolding and gracing along the sands of time.

“Of Course Again” kicks things off with a joyous energy, the clattering, room-filling percussive house sounds that AMAM has built a reputation on, but sets itself apart with traces of French filter house for a welcome juxtaposition. Then comes “Residual Layer” with its sandpapery grit and woodworking construction, perhaps an extension of Sedda's primary discipline, architecture. Then comes the title track, offering the most gentle and subtle moments, a reflective oasis amidst the EP's otherwise kinetic flair.

The second half brings “Covered Chain”, still subdued but with a vital feel of yearning and anticipation, paving the way for “Local Meridian”, the EP's deepest cut, with house beats in the forefront and aquatic pads in the background—a rave 20,000 leagues under the sea. Finally, “Thinking Easy” brings mutant flavors into the mix, combining syncopated percussive elements and Detroit refuse, igniting the dancefloor in your brain.

Alessandro Crimi`s Quantum Realm is the much-loved dub techno track appeared on our last Etui Winter Camp 2 compilation.

Long term Etui Records label artist and Abstract Animal founder Monomood delivered 2 massive remixes for this track. With the first edit he turns the track into a floor orientated techno trip while his 2nd edit offers a more dub vibe with stunning echoes.

On the flip side Switzerland based producer Alessandro Crimi shows his love for laid-back techno sound with his Space Cocktail. Etui Records label head Insect O. added some shuffling grooves, dub deepness and analogue flavor in his remix to work well on the dancefloor and even at the beach bar.

ETUILTD007 Alessandro Crimi – Quantum Realm Remixes will be out on vinyl and digital download in July 2014.

PTXS 003 ▪ Suciu - "Dusintors"

The turn of the New Year means AMAM is about to reach its fifth anniversary – now with over sixty releases of some of the classiest house and techno produced in Italy and around the world. We’re trying out some new things, and that includes starting 2015 with a shout-out to the old school: a vinyl-only split EP featuring two gems from our roster, Dakpa and 000.

On the A-side, Mallorca’s Dakpa enters the scene with “Insloud”, a triumphant melding of staccato clicks and warm clouds of ambience, managing to simultaneously divide the seven and a half minutes into tiny blinks and extended dream sequences. “Pira2”, though, shows a different, more funky and hyperactive side of Dakpa. This one isn’t concerned with subtlety, a bit cuckoo and a bit rabid. (Wait, can cuckoos get rabies?)

Sardinia’s 000 shows his stuff on the B-side. “Brklyn Ten” is a high-pressure track wrought with delightful tension, like an elevator climbing to the 999th story of a building: The mechanical groove is undercut by freewheeling whirrs and rippling outbursts. Finally, the dark and smoky “Organic” tiptoes through a dragon’s den, offering a sense of suspense as the kinetic shuffle provides the backbeat for the twists and turns of atonal horn sounds. Be sure to have a fog machine for this one! Enjoy, and stay tuned for more surprises from AMAM as we celebrate five years of existence.
