The mission statement of Hong Kong electronic stalwarts, Fauve Records, is to bridge the disparate worlds of Eastern and Western electronic music. That concept is brought to a head on their latest project, 西 WEST & 東 EAST Vol. 2, which pits together St. Petersburg-based duo, Radial Gaze, and Tokyo-based producing team, Que Sakamoto+NT on a collaborative EP. The two artists were each asked to produce one original track, and then remix their overseas partners’ track.

The result: two sets of mind-bending, hypnotic cuts of forward-thinking techno. Radial Gaze’s remix of Que Sakamoto’s “Ninja Wa Sugoi”, deepens the original’s cryptic, nocturnal vibe into a cavernous, multilayered club odyssey. The track’s relentless force seems to never let up throughout its 7 and a half minute runtime. This is due in large part to Radial maintaining Sakamoto’s original wheezy synths and tantalizing percussion as the foundation of the track. However, whereas Sakomoto incorporates elements of progressive rock into the fold, Radial pushes the song to even more alien, experimental extremes. With each sequential progression, and the arrival of a new outre-sounding instrument, the track seems to burrow deeper and deeper into a startling mix of gloomy, extraterrestrial dread and sleek, futurist-techno awe.

This kind of sui generis experiment can only ever result in the mixing and melding of minds of artists of different cultures and tastes. What this track––and the EP as a whole––displays, is the unique magic that occurs when you take two artists who appear to function in completely different lanes and afford them the opportunity to build upon each other’s artistry.

𝗦𝗩𝗘𝗧 is a Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist:
songwriter, singer, poet, MC, rapper, performer, grunge violinist, and a fresh producer from Bakhmut.

Based in Poland and the UK, SVET is the creative alias of Svitlana Sukhorukova. She founded the project in 2019.

At its core, SVET is a fusion of performance art, poetry, rap, and experimental electronic music, shaped through collaborations with diverse producers and creatives. Driven by a passion for experimentation, synergy, and artistic exchange, SVET constantly explores new forms of expression, refusing to be boxed into a single genre or identity.

Her performances are visceral, poetic, and deeply human—blending political, social, and existential themes with eclectic musical textures. From heavy, pulsating beats to light and playful sounds, SVET creates spaces of both confrontation and catharsis, offering emotional release and moments of inner balance.

The name SVET means light:

𝗦𝗵𝗷𝘃𝗮 has a rare ability to bend time, weaving immersive dub techno, low-slung Goa rhythms, and melancholic after-hours jazz into sonic narratives that transform spaces and make them her own. Hailing from Lutsk, Ukraine, Shjva has lived as a migrant in Warsaw for the past eight years, where she runs the Penumbrum label and party series and holds a residency at Jasna Club.

Her journey bridges post-industrial beginnings, Warsaw’s underground, and the transient unease of displacement—a theme resonating in her Brutaż EP and releases for Warning, People & Places, and Common Ancestors. Through intricate shifts in groove and progression, she subverts familiar motifs to create moments of sonic discovery. This transformative approach shines in her live sets and collaborations with Volodymyr Gnatenko (Turbinaria) and Stereometrix (PLAN), where she navigates a dynamic spectrum of textures and moods.

Blurring the line between documenting fleeting moments and disrupting time itself, Shjva creates a soundscape that is introspective yet transcendent, turning each performance into a timeless experience.
