Amadeus sees it’s catalog graced yet again by New Zealand outfit Chaos In The CBD. The kiwi brothers, birthed Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales, are no new faces to the label, or the wide variety of genre-bending acronyms they encompass. Having recently relocated from tropical Auckland to damp London earlier this year, the two take their productions along with them in their latest efforts, 816 To Nunhead.

Title track and aside, “816 To Nunhead,” is tinged with what’s left of summer. A nostalgic tune built for the sun and soaked in funk. It’s a track reminiscent of early french disco, almost as if built for the two robots themselves. Guitar plucks and hi hats flow seamlessly throughout the tune, aided by a glorifying vocal, “I would like to think of my music as just an extension, an extension of me of today or whatever.” 

What emotion of freedom and escape evoked on the Aside can be contrasted on the flip, “78 To Stanley Bay,” a tune built behind the ever looming theme of loneliness. Accompanied by a live trumpet courtesy of Isaac Aesili, ’78 To Stanley Bay’ tells us a story, or rather a journey, built behind dirty hats and delayed keys. This is a track fashioned for everywhere but the club, and we absolutely love that.

Phil Weeks - Live At Palladium (Original mix) Full version

Hot on the heels of their second release, label founders Sem Marini and Mike Sharon put aside their "Ultra Knites" moniker and demonstrate their talents as solo artists for label's third release.  The "Knite Grooves" series kicks off with Mike's track "People", skillfully crafted with Jazz influenced rhodes and lush pads underpinned by hard hitting kicks and basslines.  A2 "Fields of Dreams" is a truly timeless track that really touches you, we can't put it into words here, it's far easier to just hit play on the preview above.  Sem Marini steps up for the flipside.  The B1 cut "Voltage" is well suited for peak time movement and brings a unique groove with expertly positioned stabs while the drum track is somewhat reminiscent of the the classic Amen break.  B2 "Music Takes Me" is a deep rolling groove which rounds up the EP nicely.

Accompanying the miraculous Live At Robert Johnson edition by Arto Mwambe, this piece of vinyl features two of the previously unreleased trinkets that were shining through their unconventional narrative of an Arto Mwambe live set. You get their typical fudge and the duo’s crush on melodies with “Duster FC”, while “One Lonely Knight” can easily be interpreted as a bow to another convincing pair: Paris Grey and KMS wouldn’t feel out of place here. Girl you know it’s Arto Mwambe!

As if this wouldn’t be enough (you know what’s coming here now), the Berlin-Moss axis under guidance of the Sex Tags Mania emperors delivers two remixes that will be exclusively available on the vinyl platter. With some help by the reclusive Don Papa, DJ Sotofett and some other mystical people, these friendly characters grace Arto Mwambe’s “Midi Vice” with their unique voices and distinctive vision of what dance music can sound like. Graffiti most certainly can’t be stopped!

Ijsbrand & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real "goldsmiths" behind each and every production (such can be seen in this short clip which presents their title 'The Ginning'). 
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

The first title of the EP, 'The Ginning' is constructed around guitarist, Max Honckelinx. The track’s instrumental harmony is skilfully constructed by the duo as they borderline minimal and deep house.

The second original title of the EP, 'The Finishing' is merely a dialogue between a rhythmic stratospheric universe and the sax of Nathan Daems, well preserved from the first studio recording. The end result leaves us with 8 minutes of lyricism soaked in sophistication and technicality.

In regards to the remixes, Felkon, who has been presented several times before on the Délicieuse, takes on 'The Ginning' by including vocals which create a more dance-like ambiance. 
Britta Arnold, a legendary pioneer from Bar 25 and Katerholzig, worked on 'The Ginning' as well with Sascha Cawa. They delivered a version more obscure yet wickedly effective.

As for the remixes of 'The Finishing', Powel continues to captivate us while executing his deep and melancholic twists. He entirely redesigns the piece’s structure by retiring the "voice" of the sax. 
And then there’s our man, Viken Arman, who spins his version of 'The Finishing' by refiguring the rhythm pattern and adding a new dimension to the bass.
