For our first series, we are interviewing Micah Jackson, the co-founder of the record label Visionary Noise, For the Community Music Festival, and Houston Free Thinkers. He’s been heavily involved in the local music, art, and activist community in Houston for almost a decade now. Through his label and music festival, he’s been involved with local musicians like Days n Daze, Another Run, Say Girl Say,  
 B L A C K I E, Josiah Gabriel, FLCON FCKER, and Otononana Trio. We will be dividing this interview into 2 acts:

Track 1: the trials and tribulations of starting For the Community
Track 2: For the Community: The Future
For this episode, we will be discussing how For the Community went from house parties getting harassed by police to a full blown festival helping numerus local artists a get step up in the Houston music scene. We also ask talk to Micah about advice he has for starting musicians and artists who are looking to make a career out of their work.

Track 1 Micah Jackson From Visionary Noise (Featuring music from Another Run)

This is Track 2 or our 2 part interview with Micah Jackson. He is the co-founder of the record label Visionary Noise, For the Community Music Festival, and Houston Free Thinkers.  For this Track, we talk to Micah about where he sees For the Community going in the future and get his take on the Houston Sound ordinance and its effect on the Houston music scene.

We actually have a two songs for this this track. The first if from folk punk Days n Daze who are one of the biggest bands to come out of Houston in the past few years and played at the first for the community. The second song if from the Japanese funk band Otonana Trio is one of the most requested bands to come back to For the Community. Also, generally just a really fun band to see live with crazy costumes and funky music.

For this interview, we’re talking to the batman of the Houston music scene, Flcon Fcker. He’s made a name for himself through integrating an intricate and sophisticated dialog between his music and digital projection in style he refers to as “glitch art.” Flcon Fcker has been a mystical and ever elusive figure in the art and music scene in Houston for some time now and was one of the essential local representations in the Day for Night’s debut line up in 2015.
