Label Unknown's 5th Anniversary - DJ set Erwin Perdok

Let's get started by inaugurating the AMAZING first edition of the Recreational Radio Weekender (RRW) in nature from august 13 till 16 2020.

After 6 months of locked down clubs and no festivals, it does not need any explanation to understand what happens if you put a bunch of music heads back on the dance floor. It felt like freeing our souls & bodies supported by incredible artwork, amazing music, beautiful details and room for thoughts, connection and reflection.

RRW is a beautiful new concept combining spirituality with unknown artists, spread over a 3 day weekender with amazing souls from all over the globe in an intimate setting. It has been an absolute pleasure to host the stage with the Label Unknown artists and some amazing new talent. Together with Alex van Gemert (Alex van Gemert Music), Out of Words (Label Unknown) and myself we were thrilled to play for a beautiful crowd again.

If there is anything we have learned over this year and the on-going pandemic, it is how to be patient and thankful for the opportunities given to us in life. We have seen once again that life isn't anything from perfect. I have mentioned this before, but I truly believe that we need to accept our (minor) mistakes and don't be ashamed to share them. For me it is the same with mixing... When I started d'ing around 1,5 years ago I was insecure and I pre-planned my entire set to realize that usually the best sets are those that randomly start and flow, even when they come with the unexpected hick-ups.

This set is a reflection of some of my favorite tracks that I played over the RRW. With no option to sync, this comes straight from the heart, including it's ups and downs, energetic and emotional flows, reflective and powerful strikes.

Label Unknown indulges it's non-profit activities for Climate Change with kids at a primary school in Amsterdam.
