Here comes a new BLACK LOOPS EP including remixes by munich based COEO and Neovinyl’s CARLO. They go smooth this time. Rhodes pianos, some jazzy chords, a rolling beat.
The two guys know how to make a swinging loop. And they got style. No wonder as one is a funk drummer - Riccardo - who lives in Berlin and the other - Gabriele - makes his money as a photographer living in Milan. Every two months they meet in Riccardo's studio space in Berlin Kreuzberg and jam for a few nights and days. Doing new tracks, mixtapes, loops. Djing in local bars and clubs.

Detroit’s Alton Miller has been in the game for the past three decades coming up alongside luminaries Derrick May, Chez Damier and the late Frankie Knuckles and releasing material on the likes of Peacefrog, Moodymann’s Mahogany Music, Theo Parrish’ Sound Signature and Clone amongst others. Suffice to say, Miller stands as an extremely important figure in the history of authentic, soul-drenched house music.
Title-track ‘A Says Hello’ opens the package and as expected we’re treated to an elegant slice of house infused with a flawless musicality as multi-layered synth chords, pads and swells intertwine alongside dusty drum samples. ‘Cool But So…’ follows, embracing an Acid-Jazz feel with broken, organic rhythms, sweeping pads and warm chord progressions throughout.
Mule Musiq artists Chaos In The CBD step up to rework ‘Cool But So…’ next, adding their own spin to things via warbling Rhodes licks, bright chord sequences, a wandering bass line and an insistent organic drum groove. ‘Below The Underdog’ then rounds out the package perfectly with gritty bass hits, tension building synth swells and a rugged, bumpy drum groove.

Hexagonal Club presents a multiple range of sounds - from filtered disco-house to more percussive deep- house sounds - with original tracks from Tour-Maubourg, Madcat (and his alias Chaus), Mangabey, Herr Krank, Vitess, KX9000 , Cosmonection, Calmos & Berzingue (formerly ALVA) and TAOS.

The compilation opens just like an early evening, with a first side on which Madcat and KX9000 put some funky basslines and guitar riffs in the spotlight. TAOS and Mangabey then introduce us to more breaky tones mixing heady melodies with brokenbeat rhythms. With the tracks of Herr Krank and Cosmonection the Hexagonal Club definitively opens its doors to a delicious combination of euphoric deep house and acid bass lines. Calmos & Berzingue and Vitess are rushing a little more into more mental house universes with hypnotic and clearly pure dancefloor tracks. Madcat then shows us the full extent of his producing palette with a track on the edge of jungle influences and a jazzy-liquid-drum’n’bass ones under his alias Chaus. After the better part of five years in providing an audiovisual platform for the Internet Underground Masses and now rolling 40,000 subscribers deep on their legendary Youtube channel, it is fitting that Moskalus now enters the label sector.

Moskalus Records will aim to continue to spread that which it always has aimed for: positively motivated musical expressions of love and unity cultivated from the endless corners of the Worldwide Underground Dance circuit. This is an outlet without borders or restrictions. Its a cozy bedroom to lounge in or an inviting club full of good souls to dance within. It’s the weekend you’ve been waiting for crystallized into warm loop of compassion and joy. Its gotta be Moskalus Records! Christening the label, then, is Toyen, Oslo resident Henrik Villard, a young producer who has seen releases on Nite Records, Tooman Records and most recently Two Five Six Records from Amsterdam. Villard’s signature style fits perfectly within the mission of Moskalus Records: warm, inviting house without pretense, as groovy and lush as you’d hope. I Wanna Stay EP lays apparent these traits across its four tracks with a fisheye lens of Rhodes-like pads, distant coos, and sexy slap bass, an underwater discotheque caught at its most comforting peak.

We reached out to Henrik to ask what he may like to say to the people: I guess I’d like to say thanks to everyone who listen to my music, that means a lot.
