Globally renowned for his wealth of intricate productions and an expansive musical catalogue that strikes the perfect balance between power and grace, award-winning producer Rodriguez Jr. now announces his latest full-length studio album project, Feathers & Bones – set for worldwide release on May 26 via his newly launched imprint of the same name.

An extensive, ten-track opus that dives deep into the Frenchman’s complex sonic identity, Feathers & Bones was recorded over the course of two years, conceptualized while living in Paris and completed from his new home, Miami. Pivoting towards a new chapter in his illustrious career, the album houses a collection of new Rodriguez Jr. solo productions, two singles with Cuban-American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liset Alea, his collaboration with multifaceted Italian artist Giorgia Angiuli, as well as an eagerly-anticipated debut collaboration with legendary English hip hop / electronica outfit, Stereo MC’s.

Following the recent release of Tuning The Moon with Giorgia Angiuli, Rodriguez Jr. reveals the next vocal single to be taken from the album. Teaming up with his wife and Nouvelle Vague collaborator, Liset Alea, Amplify emanates hedonistic grooves across its duration, combining raw bass, celestial synths and Liset’s alluring vocals. Working together in perfect harmony, this charming creation will leave a lasting impression on the listener. Joining Amplify, Rodriguez Jr. also delivers his first instrumental record in the form of Lithium. Exuding a mysterious atmosphere, the track builds gradually with flurrying synths and eerie pads, pushed along by raw, driving bass.

Speaking about Feathers & Bones, Rodriguez Jr. mentioned:

“Now more than ever, I feel the urgency to explore different formats and genres. Twenty-five years of experience in music production and thousands of shows for diverse audiences all over the world has taught me that the unpredictable is often at the core of every achievement, especially today when dance music has become so formatted. The album is a pivot towards a new chapter of my life and carries the personal alchemy that I seek in my live shows; oscillating between dreamy melodies, ethereal textures and kinetic beats.”

Giving insight into Amplify’s backstory, Liset Alea said:

“Written in lock-down Paris, a time of deep reflection and dreams of escape, I kept asking myself what takes me beyond the craziness of this world, what makes me vibrate at a higher frequency, what amplifies me? Whatever guarantees my goosebumps, it is definitely sacred and worth writing a song about.”

While some follow trends, others set them. Rodriguez Jr. – also known as Olivier Mateu – has spent over twenty years in the industry; with his vast experience of all genres of electronic music positioning him as the visionary of melodic house and techno that he is today. With early mentorship from the legendary Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr. gradually honed his style into the dynamic, colourful sound of beauty that can be regularly found on Mobilee, Anjunadeep, Armada, and demanded on remixes for Stephan Bodzin, Monolink, Booka Shade, Eli & Fur, Jan Blomqvist, Röyksopp, NTO, Tricky, Timo Maas, and many more. Dedicated to infusing every ounce of his creativity into his productions and performances, Rodriguez Jr. is undoubtedly one of the scene’s most captivating artists.

Taking a Day Off is what Teho and Romain Garcia wanted to do when composing their latest single. Leaving all responsibilities behind, the two artists instead focused all their energy on the production of this title, in turn losing themselves in the beauty of the track. At a point, they felt like being totally immersed in another reality, granting themselves the ability to let their creativity be fully expressed. Day Off is a crossroads between both musical universes, sweet and deep from Romain’s side, and electric and intense from Teho’s.

This project is presented as an introspective journey through which Teho wanted to understand his deepest fears, anxieties and traumas, but above all, to heal them. Crossing bright phases full of hope contrasted by darker moments where fury takes over, "Shifting" is the reflection of a quest towards inner peace, and of a cure which would recover the traumas of an artist who does not understand not the reasons for his unhappiness when everything seems to be smiling on him. Robert Babicz returns home to his excellent BABICZSTYLE imprint with five tasty treats for your ears and your feet. Here we find Robert integrating a lot of melodies, a stack of melancholic sounds and his beloved acid lines to beautiful effect, pushing his sound in a different direction, while still sounding like classic Babicz.

Starting proceedings we have 'Melancholy' that oozes with emotion, and subtleties, deep but warm, happy but sad, with a retro feel about it, yet as fresh a s daisy.

'Cats In Space' is an epic affair, it locks you in to its spell and undulates beautifully, as we are teased along gracefully through this voyage. Gently building and locking you in to its magical spell, this gem intensifies and is one of those magical tracks that sends crowds wild. Hints of yesteryear with its trance like nods, but brought back to date by Mr B.

'Far Away' is a deeper vibe, a little tougher, and out comes the 303, but in a restrained manor here, as this sound track style gem unfurls.

'Take A Walk At The Sugarside' is more restrained acid from Robert, adding melodies and warm, but with that underpinning grittiness.

And to close things off, the Acid Mix of 'Far Away'. The analog factor is take up a notch as we are treated to some 303 filthiness, yet shrouded in emotion.
