But embers learn to breathe and warm,
And curiosity breaks the form.

Don’t teach us how to be small,
Don’t sell us fear dressed up as law.

Feed the spark and fan the flame.

But truth will find a way to speak:
Knowledge saves the lost, not weak.

They aim to make us easy prey,
Reduce our songs to work and pay.
They promise quiet if we bow,
But cages rattle even now.

When knowledge sleeps the heart gets thin,
When questions die, the rot sinks in—
A hollow people learn to fear,
But fear itself will disappear.
