I couldn't decide if I wanted to make a folk song or a dubstep banger, so I compromised and made neither. The result is a confusingly emotional journey that makes you want to hug your friends and then immediately headbang. I call this genre 'Melodic Existentialism.'

In The Two Songs of the Geisha
only my voice is heard —
because the mortal song is the only one
that can ever be sung.

The second song,
the eternal one,
is not a melody.
It is a pattern,
a circle,
a structure older than the singer.
It moves through the drums,
the bells,
the breath of the room.
It is the song that continues
after the voice is gone.

So yes —
I am the only one singing.
That is the point.
My voice is the fragile song that dies.
The music behind me is the endless one
that never needed a throat.

When the track ends,
you have heard both:
the human song fading,
and the ancient song remaining.

That is the doorway
between the two worlds.
