I'll never be a runner-up kid,

Race track, almost out, I'm hustlin',
The necessity to show who the fuck I am,
Never stop spewin' these words from my head,

Perfection? Or the Pleasure of Fame?
Greatness or a Hobby I love today,
Thoughts intrude while I approach the plate,
Debut on the scene, which road do I take?

Pace accelerate, while the fans generate,
Everything else fades, heightened mental state,
Gotta be great, gotta perfect this take,
Lay it down while my heart rate race,

I posted in a thread on reddit under /r/makinghiphop and /u/gabeisfire420 reached out, and after showing me this beat he made at the beginning of the month, I wrote and recorded this in under an hour. Hopefully the mix isn't terrible, please feel free to leave comments/critiques!

Never crossed my mind to even think I could be embarrassin',
I'm -- I'm hearing voices again, I'm certain that their condescendin'
But less fucks couldn't be given 'til I reach the destination.

Hear the sirens in the background, so I pick up the pace,
Drop behind a dumpster as the searchlight nears my place,
There ain't an option to be caught, so, so just in case,
I steady down my breathing as vomit explodes out of my face.
