Continuation of the Blind Emperor tale

The Meeting

“There was a tension in the air about the meeting in the shrine with the others. Everybody who's opinion mattered in some way was supposed to come and join the conversation around the round table. It was very important not to be late. The Blind Emperor and her convoy had to hurry and move forward faster. She was full of thoughts: Will they really all come? Will they be able to leave the conflicts of the past behind? Is the shrine really as they all say? Nobody knew what was going to happen inside.”

We're buzzing buzz buzz to have our good friend Jenifa break her hiatus for a session on O to O. A true creative in many frontiers, this audio-visual wizard has been playing all around Helsinki and has become known as a soulful selector of house-y house. With a keen ear for a more worldly avenue of said genre, Jenifa effortlessly weaves together emotional yet wonderfully groovy cuts. Here's an hour of music that Jenifa represent the fruits of a short break in active gigging in order to find some new inspiring paths in music.

Taking influence from the 90s IDM scene that revolved around labels such as Warp, Rephlex and Planet Mu, Cardiff producer Pope John Paul Van Damme creates a visceral collage of techno, breakcore and acid - a sonic menagerie that could make even the most hardened raver feel like they're tripping on their own synapses.

His music has been praised for its abstract and experimental nature, yet, in the midst of the chaos, there's beauty to be found. Listening to his latest album, ‘How Am I Not Myself?’, released on 12” vinyl via Last Riot Records, is like peering into a kaleidoscope on LSD. His beats lurch and stutter, while melodies swirl like dervishes in a sandstorm. With tracks like ‘Say No to Yes’ and ‘An Overture to Illumination’, the Welsh wizard crafts a sound that is simultaneously hypnotic and unsettling, like a rave in a haunted cathedral.
