Ladi6 and Parks travelled to the U.S to work with renowned music producer Waajeed (Bling47/ DIRT TECH RECK), recording the album at Studio A recording studios in Detroit, with grammy winning engineer Todd Fairall.

Automatic is produced by Parks and Waajeed and features Ladi6 band members Julien Dyne and B.Haru. The album has guest vocal appearances by Scribe, Parks and Tyra Hammond and esteemed Detroit MC Invincible.

Featuring critically acclaimed singles “Ikarus” and “Shine On”, the album has been described as “a beautiful amalgamation of soul and futuristic hip-hop complimented by Ladi6’s distinctive vocals."

Budamunk & ill Sugi - Spirit of the Golden Era  The 90s were, in many ways, the golden era of HipHop music—a time when its expression was still pure and raw. BudaMunk is one of the rightful heirs to that golden era, and together with the younger Nasty Ill Brother Sugi (who has also studied HipHop's lineage) the two artists form an intergenerational sound that honors the soul of HipHop’s remix legacy. Excavating beats from the dusty depths of HipHop’s past, the duo refashioned forgotten beat-styles (like the “boom bap”) to vibrate once again in a manner that is very different from contemporary offshoots of the sound. The “boom bap” was never truly gone—it just fell out of style. But it has returned and found a new home in the aesthetic spirit, vision and composition of BudaMunk and Ill.Sugi. These beats will surely put the diaphrams of your audio equipment to work!

In 2011 Ladi6 picked up two New Zealand Music awards (Best Urban album and Best Female Artist), two Pacific Music Awards (Best Pacific Urban album and Best Female Artist) and 'The Liberation Of..' won the prestigious Taite Music Prize.

"Shine On" the second single from Ladi6's third studio album Automatic. 

Ladi6 and Parks traveled to America to work with Waajeed to record their new album at the renowned Studio A recording studio in Detroit, Michigan with grammy winning engineer Todd Fairall.  

"Shine On" is produced by Detroit's own Waajeed AKA Jeedo.  Jeedo needs little introduction to music fans, as his work over the years has spawned absolute classics starting with his first Platinum Pied Pipers album, Triple P. His work spans from Soul, Hip Hop to Electronic, working with the likes of Cee- Lo, J-Dilla, Mad Mike, and countless others.
