‘Final Girl’ is an outspoken pop track about being unable to cope with the challenges of everyday life, told from the perspective of the last woman standing in a horror flick.
Through this suspenseful pop earworm, Lazygirl battles with the existential and the idea that it’s easier to throw in the towel when every day feels like a fight for survival.

Lazygirl produced ‘Final Girl’ with her partner, fellow musician and producer Matt Humphries (The Moss Farm). The song emerged through the pair’s shared love of horror and popular YouTube creators Dead Meat. Working in their home studio together, the two embraced the use of eccentric samples to establish the song’s worldbuilding - a lighter crackling to life, fingers tapping on glass, and even nods to the Friday The 13th score woven amongst bombastic bass lines, guitar licks and soaring strings. The outcome is an intricately produced song spiked with suspense - a perfect addition to any Halloween playlist.
