I was delighted to welcome Joi N'Juno to the decks this week. Joi N’ Juno is the new project from singer, composer, multi instrumentalist, producer and audio engineer David Baluteau aka “Damny”. 
David started his musical career 25 years ago as the founding member of “La Phaze”, quickly establishing a strong reputation and cult following with his energising live performances. La Phaze toured extensively for 14 years, playing more than 700 shows in 35 countries and recording 5 albums, while also collaborating with artists such as Gogol bordello, manu Chao and Keny Arkana. 22 years later  La Phaze maintains their loyal fan base and recently finished a nationwide tour of France.

David has joined Manu Chao and Radio Bemba as keyboard player and back up singer for their European and usa tour and also Calypso Rose for the tour of her last album “far from home”, which obtained a French music award.
These years of experience shaped David into a highly skilled studio producer.  drawing on these strengths he built his professional studio “96db studio”, where he mixes and produces for artists such as Keny Arkana, Sol Pereyra, Yawdel, Orange Blossom, Elephanz and others.. His skill set sees him adapting to create musical works for synchronisation parts for TV shows and advertising, for prestigious companies like Bmg UK, Score Addiction and BAM Music. He was honoured with a Production Music Award in 2012.

In 2022, David Baluteau embarked on a new creative journey, creating his latest project “Joi N’J uno”. The sound of Joi N’ Juno blends warm vintage keyboards, funky guitars and grooving basslines with triumphant horns and heady vocals. Joi N Juno fuses influences from African and tropical funk and disco traditions, splicing these spicy outernational flavours with the slick production of modern disco & the punch of house beats to create an intoxicating and invigorating recipe that challenges anyone to sit still!

Joi N’ Juno has seen solid support from artists such as Folamour, David Penn, Nickodemus & Tiger Balm and has been remixed by scene luminaries such as Art of Tones & Hotmood.

In 2023 David started to record his first solo album under the new moniker, titled “Samemala”, which is signed to Canopy Records, scheduled for release in early October on vinyl and digital format, followed by a tour of live shows.

Joi N’Juno is a project of soulful liberation. It is the sound of joy and the sound of triumph in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

This week's guest was fellow NDC resident Stuart Goodfella from Brisbane. I had the good fortune to meet him at the NDC Beatwood Festival in the Summer, and he's an all-round top bloke, as well as an awesome DJ.

** STUART GOODFELLA BIO **
A good DJ can mix an effortless transition, a great one can tell a compelling story. Stuart Goodfella  is a DJ versed in the art of storytelling, taking his audience on an audial journey from the moment he takes to the stage.

Hailing from the UK, Stuart has been serving up his own brand of Deep, Funky Uplifting and Vocal House, for over 30 years. He has played in some of the world's most renowned venues and Club nights, supported, headlined and rubbed shoulders with dance music legends, and gained a reputation as both a formidable DJ and producer.

From Clubs and festivals in the UK and Europe to world-class clubs and festivals across Australasia, New Zealand and Asia, Stuart has secured bookings alongside the leading forces in dance music, playing festivals and raves, headlining Dance Arenas. He artfully mixes his classics dating back to the 80’s with everything from Funky, Uplifting House, through to pumping sets. 

Over the last 5 years Stuart and friends have been recently running and performing at The Shindig and FUN HOUSE club nights and day parties in Brisbane city.

He has now secured a slot on the world renowned NDC Radio on Saturday evening 7-9 pm AUS AEST and 10 am - 12 noon UK GMT

The Black Light Disco Show blasts back onto the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with another packed bag of musical goodies fresh from the double oven here in the kitchens of BLD Towers. 

This week, the wheel has spun back to our resident helper Elves Cole Kutz and Esteban who have an absolutely deadly two hours lined up for your listening pleasure. First up is that street rascal, Cole Kutz with a slow burner set that increases in tempo and thrills over the allocated 60 minutes. International Dj, producer and remixer Jonathan Douglas Braverman, known as Ladies On Mars, has been on a musical journey since the conception of 2006 of his successful Minimal Techno music project. The artist born in Buenos Aires has accumulated numerous achievements, although it was his 2007 hit "We Are Not Lesvicon", published on Xela Digital, which really impelled Ladies On Mars to be in the eye of the storm, reaching within the TOP 40 of Beatport's Minimal. Another of his great achievements was in 2009 when he won the Beatport contest for remixing the song "Peace" by the group Depeche Mode, his remix became the best-selling band in Beatport for several years.

Since then, the native of Argentina has continued to evolve, mutating its sound, perfecting from the Minimal Techno of its beginnings to the Tech-House, current Funky House. Remixing artists like Aka Aka and Home Video. Editing his music on labels such as Prison Entertainment, Emi Music or his own label: Boom Zwapp Records.

In addition to having an impressive subsequent catalog of solo and collaborative productions, Ladies On Mars has also offered remixes for numerous top-level musicians, including: AKA AKA, Daniele Petronelli, Min & Mal, Home Video, etc ...

Outside of the studio, Jonathan is a touring DJ who is in great demand and his daily agenda is fuller. Taking their Marsian sound and a unique mix of spatial sounds with a lot of groove mixed with Funk, House and Tech-House directly to the dance floor in some of the best clubs, festivals and events in the world in countries, including: Germany, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
