i am grand vinyl archivist LADY SCHICK, AKA dj lady schick. i am a happy hour dj which means the music i select can be from any genre, and is more listening and mood. when i began, i started with lounge and jazz vocals, then added jazz, soul, funk, r&b surf, blues, country, rockabilly, rock and hip hop.

 i like to think of my sets as journeys, from one place, era or style to another. my sets rarely stay with just one genre, and i believe strongly in transitions in either genre, sound, theme, or artist to connect one song to another. my formula is simple: roughly a song you know, followed by  one by an artist you know, but haven't heard, followed by  a song you know by an artist you didn't know did a cover of it, followed by something you've never heard before, followed by a song you know. the trick is to keep it familiar, and almost like a game.
