Scaled down to three acoustic instruments, the musical collective that is Half Man Half Elf uses mandolin, mini electric grand piano, and violin/cello/acoustic 6-string guitar. These tracks were recorded during a practice in the Fiddler's living room for educational purposes only. Just Like Heaven is our cover of The Cure song. Canto de Maria Clara is a cover of Clemen Castro's musical setting of the Jose Rizal poem from the novel Noli Me Tangere. Brilliance, Never Ending Sun and Brother's Pen were written by Alfie Mella and his bandmates from Dream Kitchen and Half Life Half Death.

The violin has been my voice for over 30 years. Though classically trained, I enjoy lighting up faces with jigs and reels, ballads and simple, pleasing melodies.  I play both solo and with others, improvising harmonies even when I've never heard a song before. I'm no prima donna: I'm easy-going, patient and open to new ideas.
