Parev (Armenian greetings), and as-salā mu'laykum (peace be upon you in Arabic), my friends. Did you know there are around 300 languages spoken here in Australia? Imagine how much richer our lives would be if we embraced that diversity that is all around us! 

Now, let's get real for a moment, we are all adults here.... There is a word being thrown around a lot these days I have to talk to you about. This word is "genocide". And it is less than 100 years old... This word was created to describe the Jewish Holocaust, and the 1915 Armenian genocide, where 1.5 million of my people, along with almost 2 million Greeks and Assyrians were wiped off the face of the earth. Less than a year ago, the entire Armenian population of Artsakh was also ethnically cleansed from their homeland of 7000 years. And as we stand here today, there are 2 million Palestinians who are displaced and also without a safe space to call home.

But you know what? Tonight, We're all here together, we are at Home the mother fucking venue !!!! So Tonight, Let's honor those who've have lost their homes, let us come together in solidarity. 

I have named this MIX Home Cooked 🇦🇲 / Welcome Home 🇵🇸!  I dedicate this to my motherland Armenia, to my Palestinian family here today, and to all oppressed and persecuted people in the world!

The mix contains influences from traditional Middle Eastern and Armenian folk music with modern techno, house, and acid references.

DJ Lady's Dad  is first and foremost the proud father of Lady 😻, and also a Gadigal / Sydney based Armenian Australian DJ 🇦🇲🇦🇺. 

DJ Lady's Dad discovered his passion for DJing because he wanted the skills and creative freedom to tell stories through music. His mission is to bring people from diverse backgrounds together through the unifying power of music, using his craft to hold space and curate immersive experiences for communities and individuals who may otherwise fall through the cracks.

With an eclectic and wide-ranging musical taste, DJ Lady's Dad is fine-tuning his signature sound by incorporating traditional Middle Eastern and Armenian folk elements (when appropriate) with modern techno, psytech, indie dance, and acid. By carefully selecting and fusing his favorite English tracks into the mix, he creates hypnotic and enticing atmospheres that resonate with audiences on a deeper level and drives home his underlying message.

The "Home CoOked" collection is DJ Lady's Dad's inaugural project, with more on the way. Each "Home CoOked" set is curated in distinct chapters, with decisions around song selection and order being driven by lyrical meaning, rather than simply pairing genres that are "meant" to sound good together. This unconventional approach takes listeners on a rapid, emotive journey through a diverse range of genres, allowing them to feel whatever they need to, sometimes without warning.

DJ Lady's Dad owes it to the "Your Shot" DJ competition (the world's biggest DJ competition) where he was selected to undergo 6 weeks of training and compete in the 2024 NSW Group 2 Showcase at the Home Made stage at Home The Venue. 
His debut performance, "Home CoOked 🇦🇲 / Welcome HOME 🇵🇸," received an honorable mention🏅further solidifying his reputation and creativity and as a rising talent in the Sydney and Melbourne electronic music scene.
