With the strength instilled in me through my Higher Power, I'm able to speak for many people who have grown up with similar experiences as I. Through music I'm able to release my thoughts and reflect on my growth as a woman in society. Personal Business is a project I've decided to put together that will reflect my process of growing from a young woman with a dream to a woman with goals. One of the goals is to cause awareness in relevant social issues such as described in this intro, Better Place. The music I make is intended to let those who can relate understand they are not alone and to provide an outlet for personal use.

There are some chapters in our lives that are not meant to read out loud. These are the 
chapters I choose to write about. 

God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers, remember that. 

Some statistics: 

"Seventy six million Americans, about 43% of the U.S. adult population, 
have been exposed to alcoholism in the family."

"A significant number of children in this country are being raised by addicted parents. 
With more than one million children confirmed each year as victims of child abuse and 
neglect by state child protective service agencies, state welfare records have indicated 
that substance abuse is one of the top two problems exhibited by families in 81% of the 
reported cases."

"71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. [National 
Principals Association Report on the State of High Schools]"

"24 million children (34 percent) live absent their biological father."

"Children who live absent their biological fathers are, on average, 
at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, 
to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems, 
to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than their 
peers who live with their married, biological (or adoptive) parents."
