We are now on the first floor of the Foundation, in a small space that precedes a curved corridor... bodies graze us, the song of a blackbird resounds in the half-light, the notes of a saxophone intensify: our mediation team transports you into "The Show is Over," the central installation of the exhibition.

Our mediation team invites you to listen to Wu Tsang's "visionary company" exhibition through "Innervision", our new five-part audio tour podcast series.

Here we are on the top floor of the Foundation, guided by a heady rhythm coming from a dark room following a large balcony that dominates the lower floor. We face the video, "Sudden Rise" projected on a thick black curtain where images and sounds clash at a frantic pace.

It is in front of this stage curtain, which will not open, that this sound tour of the exhibition "visionary company" by the artist Wu Tsang ends.

Since 2007 and the creation of his website Excavated Shellac, Jonathan Ward has been offering a new gateway into the digging of non-western-centred music. This mix drawn from the hundred or so tracks that compose "Excavated Shellac: An Alternate History of the World's Music", a compilation published at the end of 2020 by Dust to digital that brings together an impressive corpus of tracks from various horizons and eras that unearths a totally unknown facet of humanity's musical heritage.

Il analyse ici notre rapport aux vivants, qu’ils soient humains, bactéries, virus, plantes ou animaux, et comment notre relation aux autres espèces doit être repensée afin d’imaginer d’autres futurs.

Composer of the soundtrack for 'The show is over,' the main installation for Wu Tsang's exhibition, ASMARA (aka Asma Maroof) is an electronic musician, DJ and producer. She is also known as NGUZUNGUZU, a duo formed with Daniel Pineda in Los Angeles that explores dystopian sound atmospheres.

For the "visionary company" exhibition, she offers us an evocative tracklist mix, blending avant-garde jazz accents with vaporous electronic layers.
