Jimmy & Fred are back on Exploited offering the indie-sounding, oldschool disco infused sound. This rather mysterious duo might not immediately ring a bell but we’re pretty sure James Curd and Fred Everything do. Their debut "I See Lights" (including a remix by Karmon) as Jimmy & Fred became a Top 10 Beatport Deephouse Hit.

James Curd started DJing at the age of 15. As he was underaged and legally not allowed to be in clubs he had to snuck in to play. His passion and persistence payed of though. He has played -and still does- alongside very respected acts and DJs. Furthermore he released on labels such as DFA, Permanent Vacation and Eskimo to name a few. He also released on Derric Carter’s Classic Records as „Greenkeepers” creating his own Greenkeepers-Swing, a mix of swing music and Chicago house. Around the same period he started his „Greenkeepers Music” record label.

Fred Everything who started playing live in the early 90s at raves and clubs in Canada is a well known entertainer in the house scene as his sets were a true mix-and-match of everything from house to techno and more ambient music. He has been in the business for over 20 years, worked on more than 200 music productions and he has no intention to stop. Luckily. Nowadays he lives in sunny San Francisco and he’s working with labels such as Drumpoet Community, Local Talk and Lazy Days.

It’s indisputable that these two passioned and talented musicians combined can only bring supernatural sounds.

To make it even more exceptional Locked Groove and Mirror People are on remix duties.

Locked Groove, known from Scuba’s Hotflush imprint and on the brink of releasing on Permanent Vacation, gave the track a somewhat hypnotizing makeover without losing his talent to produce powerful yet subtile music.

Mirror People got on a more disco-funky road for this one. Being influenced by the almighty Giorgio Moroder it clearly suits the original.

Yes, these four producers together equal a solid ep. Hope you like it too.

"We got to the studio after a long tour and you can really hear that we were inspired by our travels, watching the world from the planes and cars," the Polish duo explain about the creative thought behind the EP. "Lots of analog synths, 909 drums and analog bass. It's very emotional and powerful." Out on May 22 on Watergate Records.

Planet E are proud to present ‘AW18 Collection’, a 3 track EP from British producer Tom Flynn due September 14th. Drawing upon a broad and learned musical understanding, ‘AW18 Collection’ fuses disparate strands from the worlds of fashion, club culture and sound design to forge a highly atmospheric, singular release.

‘Packard’, the title of which is inspired by parties in the historic Detroit power plant of the same name, establishes an unrelenting energy from the get go. A bouncing kick lays the foundations for rolling synths, unnerving vocal samples and delicate piano refrains to wander. ‘Anna’ is an indulgent nod to the catwalk, marching with intent amidst immersive chords and subtle melodies.

The B side hosts a trippy cut full of interplanetary glitches and melancholic harmonies. Drawing upon hints to the extraterrestrial, ‘Marx’ creates a dizzying swirl with glistening textures.

Carl Craig was sold straight away: “When Tom sent me his demo of ‘Packard’ I knew I wanted to release it on Planet E. The mix of looped electronics with soul of the piano brought me back to when I first heard the post-Disco classic ‘Beyond the Clouds’. I can imagine the kids on The Scene rockin' hard to this.“

For release number 006, Marcin Czubala's Your Mama's Friend looks to a production partnership that are based in both Italy and the United States… Lula Circus & Nikko Gibler.

Danilo Sardella and Sergio Frazzingaro aka Lula Circus, first came together as a musical experiment. From different musical backgrounds, the pair were keen to share new experiences and after some early success became an established project.  Never wanting to be pigeonholed with their sound, Lula Circus have always sought to explore the wider spectrum of House Music, combining cinematic touches with swathes of synths and unique vocals. Their releases for Resopal, Catwash, Stranjjur and Culprit have already found favour with many of the biggest DJ names.

Nikko Gibler is still riding high from the success of his own Culprit release. May's "LAX" ep produced with Matt Tolfrey and Lazaro Casanova has been making waves and alongside his releases and remixes for Leftroom, Petfood and Time Has Changed and has established Nikko as one of the freshest talents of today.  Musically gifted, the New York resident has been composing and producing music since the age of eight, much of which has been used by advertising agencies. Now as an established artist and club promoter (Nikko is behind the Sheik & Beik parties in the US), the Mexican has spent the past 18months travelling the globe bringing his own sound to the most essential club nights.

Together the trio have created a wonderfully diverse EP for Your Mama's Friend and one that allows Nikko to let loose with his wonderful vocals. The opener and title track "Take Me, Don't Break Me" is a dreamily deep number. Its strong kick drum is met with an atmospheric organ melody and wistful vocals. On the flip we are treated to the beautiful bass-heavy gem, "Promises Forsaken." Whilst the bassline dominates its the intergalactic synth pulses and gorgeous vocal that keep us on the deeper path and make this essential. The final cut sees the trio letting loose, closing the ep with the mighty crescendo reaching, "Muse."

It"s been some time since label boss Gregor Tresher featured on Break New Soil. His and Karotte&#8217;s 2011 smash, &#8220;Sol&#8221;, was his last release, a track preceded by his excellent album &#8220;Lights From The Inside&#8221;. Since then, Gregor has concentrated on the A&amp;R&#8217;ing of the label whilst creating and releasing club hits with the likes of Ovum, Music Man and Drumcode. Today he returns home, riding the wave of support for his current Cocoon hit &#8220;About A Good Place&#8221; and enjoying his seemingly endless run of good form to present: &#8220;Warpaint.&#8221;

No camouflage here. &#8220;Warpaint&#8221; sees Gregor continue his run of bold arena rocking Techno releases. &#8220;I realised that its been well over a year since my last full release on the label and having really enjoyed moving back toward a tougher Techno sound with my Cocoon and Drumcode singles, I wanted to carry that sound into my latest for Break New Soil.&#8221; 

The original burns from the opening thump of the kick-drum. The ever-increasing intensity is fuelled by piercing single note synth riffs, shimmering hi-hats, Gong crashes and lazer shots. An epic concoction. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been working on &#8216;Warpaint&#8217; for quite some time, playing and refining it over the last few months&#8221; says Gregor. &#8220;It&#8217;s been one of the peak time records in my sets and does quite some damage everywhere I play it, hence the name.&#8221;

On the remix is an artist that has impressed Gregor with his recent releases, Kernel Key. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been a fan of all his music over the past months and on his &#8216;Warpaint&#8217; remix he adds his signature groove, which gives it a great twist!&#8221;
