We spent our schooldays together and his thin silhouette dressed “gothic” couldn’t be missed. He had that naughty stare that make you feel good and happy each you were meeting him. I remember so many good times we had, listening to music, and while most of the school kids were playing footballs or trying to pick some girls, we were listening to Joy Division, Nick Drake and the Beastie Boys or picking guitar strings...

Then life changed, i moved from city to city and we began to see us less and less until one day where i met him @ a dvd and cd sales in a lost area near my hometown : he was also still "diggin''... We haven’t spoken for maybe  4 years and i felt like nothing has changed : we were truly happy to see us again. 

We exchanged facebook and seeing that i was still in the music passion and biz, he started posting me on a regular basis what he was listening to. Mostly krautrock, folk, northern soul, cold wave and retro electro, ... with an undeniable good taste that he never loss since we were kids. Talking to him was always good cause i was looking back at me in a mirror and getting back to innocence. When i was talking to him, yesterday was today and life was peaceful again - like if we were still kids...


True soul, true thinker in our “lost” world, i was always happy to see a such character with a big heart and a true faith in music standing strong still listening Steve Reich with the same amazement. He was also incredibly funny and i will never forget his awesome weird look, head down through the upper space of his glasses.
During the last two years, we exchanged (he sent me most of it) something like 200 tracks via facebook or e mails, and i know he would have love me to do a mix and i'm really sad i never proposed him to do a show...  

The last mail he sent me was titled “Bahamas”. I saw it the day it came and i remember sayin’ to myself “let’s download this track, should be some folky hawaïan /caribean 60’s music”.

It was just a lovely goodbye.

This track tore my heart up but it's all good cause i know the guy is smiling up there.

You will be missed my friend.
