Also I've tuned some notes one octave down and but distortion on some of the pads, which changed the mood completely.

I love how this light pad turned into some kind of apocalyptic horns. You can hear the "horns" later in the track again, but then without distortion.

At this time, I kicked the acoustic guitar out of the track. It sounded too happy for this part of the song.

Now the optimistic part of the song begins. I took one of the apocalyptic sounds into this first section so as not to make the cut between the two parts too hard.

The choir that can be heard now was my girlfriend's idea. It gives the song a certain drama, something epic.

My songs actually always come out of a loop. This is the part that is basically the origin of the song. The loop from which the rest emerged.

You could see the structure of this song like a story: The gloomy beginning represents the current situation. The war, the suffering. In the second part, the turning point follows, where a positive development is hinted at. Followed by the upswing and at the end there is the happy ending.

Originally, this song was over eight minutes long. Then it was around seven minutes long and after another cut we are now at five minutes and thirty seconds. For me a good compromise, where all elements still have enough time and it still doesn't get boring. Besides, the song was still two BPM slower until shortly before the end.

This is an unusual track for me. It's not a dance track, it's not Techno or Trance. The sounds are more organic. With strings and a piano and a guitar. And a saxophone. Even the drums are "natural" drums and not an 808 or 909 or something like that. Maybe I'm getting old. ;-) The track is about home. About coming home, feeling home, missing home. Hope you'll like it!

I expected many things, but not a war of aggression by Russia's President Putin against Ukraine. This war is wrong on so many levels that I cannot put it all in this text. The only important thing is that this war will end as soon as possible. Let us all hope that the situation does not get any worse and that peace reigns in Europe again soon. I hope for all the refugees from Ukraine that they can return home as soon as possible. Stop the war!

This track is the result of an attempt to process the events of the past weeks with music. In such situations, music is like a therapy: just convert all the thoughts into sounds and in the end a new piece of music comes out. To my own surprise, this track doesn't sound as gloomy as my thoughts when I follow the daily news. It actually sounds rather cheerful and full of optimism. I hope the song is right and my head is wrong.
