Jay Hats is a producer/musician from Eindhoven, Netherlands. His music can be described as a mix between psychedelic tropical soul, afro cuban rhythms and contemporary club music all encapsulated with a hip hop attitude.  His influences range from hip hop to Mid 90’s drum and bass to classical music. A graduate of the Academy of fine arts Jay Hats Tropical sound is in high demand though out the Netherlands and beyond.

Gian Paolo La Barbera a.k.a Barbera illustrator, graphic artist, musician and producer born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Barbera began his musical life playing at local clubs with rock bands in the early 90s. After these initial experiences, decided to begin studies at ULM, a music university in Sao Paulo. In 2005 he formed a project  called Modo Solar  with friend and musician Fabricio DiMonaco. Modo Solar released  their debut EP Natural in 2008. Barbera  is currently working on his debut solo album. ClassicBeatz - Kampala Hustle (Barbera Remix)

MonkeyRobot is an eclectic producer duo made up of Brussels-based beatmakers Eric P. and LuiGi (or Eric Paquet and Louis Van De Leest). Their trademark - exploring the boundaries of soulful music between 90 and 120 bpm. With their illustrious background in hiphop and jazz, they join forces to delve into the future of beatmaking. Not surprising then, that their music has been revered, having the privilege of releasing under labels such as Jazzy Sport, Bastard Jazz, Brownswood, and now, Darker Than Wax.

“Earshot" has a lovely intro in High Five, which kicks off with a wonky bassline before flipping into a total fusion workout. This immediately sets the tone for the Ep. "Dumpster Diving" takes over with a House mode, one which would prove to be extremely useful in getting a floor started. Beau on the other hand, provides a shade of contrast, with Glaper-esque keys which illuminate the journey of the album. The energy picks up again with the ethnic percussions and half step breakdown of Shango, showcasing the multi-faceted side of this duo, while "Bright" morphs into a late night House workout once again, this time employing slight Techno elements in its composition. And finally, capping off the Ep is “Generation”, a slick dub blend – the oscillating synths blanketed over groovy basslines are ingeniously comforting and catchy, ending the album on an exulting note.

For this particular release  in collaboration with Laid Back, Devastate sets out to remix the soul brother himself, Mr. Pete Rock. Reinterpreting “the king of beats” is never easy task but Dev takes on the 2006 underground classic ”Revenge” with great confidence. Devastate flips the beat, staying true to the original, with a classic production formula. Thumping drums, heavy baseline and signature turntable acrobatics. The result definitely leaves your head nodding. Devastate is paying homage to Pete and sums it up in the outro scratches - “You know a learned from the greatest, Pete Rock to Jay Dee, Diggin In The Crates”.
